The Path to Norman

Jayden Petit, a receiver out of Florida, first committed to Wisconsin in June 2025 after official visits to both Wisconsin and Oklahoma. The Sooners continued recruiting him into his senior season, which was a prolific one. Petit participated in the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl, was named 2025 Southwest Florida Football Offensive Player of the Year, and finished his career as Southwest Florida’s all-time leading receiver with 3,695 career yards. In November, the Sooners pulled off the flip and landed the receiver.

Highlights

This Season

The OU receiver room will be led by the returning Isaiah Sategna, with transfers Parker Livingstone and Trell Harris starting alongside him and a group led by Elijah Thomas right in the mix. However, Petit brings a different profile to Oklahoma’s receiver room as a 6’4″ target with experience. This should give him a shot at finding a role in year one, such as a red-zone target for QB John Mateer. Look for the big freshman receiver to find playing time this fall.
