The Path to Norman

Michael Boganowski started picking up offers during his junior year of high school. The athletic prospect out of Junction City, Kansas started with regional offers from KSU, KU, and Nebraska. Plenty of nationwide teams started calling soon, with Washington, Michigan, Tennessee, and USC all throwing in their hats. Oklahoma recruited Boganowski as a safety/ cheetah prospect and was very high on his positional flexibility. OU and KSU seemed to the last two teams standing, but the Sooners won his commit in the fall of 2023.

Career so Far

Despite a talented safety room, Boganowski saw his way onto the field in year one on campus. He played in all 13 games as a true freshman in a reserve role at safety.

In 2025, Boganowski was once again a frequent presence at safety and had an even larger role. He played in all 13 games, earned SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition, and continued his reputation as an extremely hard hitter.

Highlights

This Season

Boganowski is set to replace Robert Spears-Jennings at safety, as he and Peyton Bowen will be the two starters. After a larger 2025 role, he’ll be part of a secondary that returns many core pieces and now has its fair share of experience. The physical junior has the chance to have a massive first season as a full-time starter.
