The Path to Norman

Ivan Carreon, a four star receiver recruit out of Texas, was a long-time Texas Tech commit. After a camp at OU in the summer of 2023, he picked up an OU offer. In very short order, he flipped to the Sooners as part of an impressive receiver class for Coach Emmett Jones.

Career so Far

With the massive amount of injuries to the OU receiver room in 2024, Carreon was called upon earlier than expected. He played in almost every game of his freshman season, logging 10 receptions. Carreon was especially bright in the bowl game, with seven catches and several big plays.

The next season was much quieter for Carreon. He played in 11 games like he did in 2024, but saw just two receptions for the whole season. Carreon briefly entered the portal after the season but returned within a couple weeks.

Highlights

This Season

The OU receiver room will feature a mix of incoming transfers and returning players. Isaiah Sategna is the leader of the returning group, with transfers Parker Livingstone and Trell Harris likely to complete the starting three. Carreon is entering his third season with the Sooners and has played in 22 games, but has yet to find a steady role. He’ll work to carve one out for himself this fall.
