The Path to Norman

Hayden Hansen spent four years in college before arriving in Norman. Hansen was a first-team All-District selection in Weatherford, Texas his senior year of high school. From there, he went to play for the Gators. After a redshirt season, he started almost every game for three consecutive seasons. Following the 2025 season, Hansen transferred to Norman.

Career so Far

Hansen took a redshirt season in 2022 and did not play.

In 2023, he immediately stepped into a big role for the Gators. He played in all 12 games, starting in nine and logging a couple of touchdowns.

The next seasons were much of the same for the tight end; he played and started in every game over the two year stretch.

Highlights

This Season

Hansen enters a tight end room that, after being a non-entity for several seasons, received a complete overhaul over the offseason. The Sooners brought in NFL legend Jason Witten to coach the room and return it to a position of strength for OU. Hansen, Rocky Beers, and Jack Van Dorselaer were all brought in as transfers to replace the four main tight ends from 2025, with Tyler Ruxer and Ryder Mix entering as freshmen. Hansen brings size and blocking ability to the offense. Beers and Hansen look likely to lead the room this year and hopefully show how much the tight end spot can open up the OU offense.
