The Oklahoma Sooners have landed a major piece for the future of their offense as 2027 quarterback Jamison Roberts has announced his commitment to Oklahoma.

Roberts, who is from Saraland, Alabama, is listed at 6 foot 3 and around 200 pounds, chose the Sooners over a strong group of programs that included Texas Tech, Georgia, Auburn, Arkansas and Missouri. Securing a quarterback commitment in the 2027 cycle gives Oklahoma an important building block as the class begins to fill up.

A major reason Roberts ultimately chose the Sooners was offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle. Arbuckle made Roberts a priority early in the recruiting process and built a strong relationship with the young quarterback and his family. The opportunity to play in Arbuckle’s quarterback-friendly offense and develop under one of the rising offensive minds in college football played a significant role in the decision.

On the field, Roberts brings a strong combination of size, arm talent and mobility. At 6 foot 3 he has the frame teams look for at the position, and he shows the ability to push the ball down the field while also making plays outside the pocket. His comfort throwing on the move and ability to extend plays fits well within Arbuckle’s offensive system.

Landing Roberts gives Oklahoma an offensive centerpiece at quarterback for the 2027 class and continues the Sooners’ push to secure top offensive talent as they build toward the future under Brent Venables and Arbuckle.
