The Oklahoma Sooners have added another piece to the future of their offensive line as 2027 offensive lineman Tyson Ross has announced his commitment to Oklahoma.

Ross, who hails from Andover, Kansas (6’4 290),chose the Sooners over a strong group of programs that included Kansas State, Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas Tech. Pulling a highly regarded lineman out of the region while beating several Power conference programs marks another solid recruiting win for Brent Venables and his staff.

A major factor in Ross’ decision was Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh. Known as one of the top offensive line developers in college football, Bedenbaugh made Ross a priority early in the process. His track record of producing NFL caliber linemen and the clear development plan he laid out for Ross helped Oklahoma stand out throughout the recruitment.

One of Ross’ most appealing traits is his versatility along the offensive front. At the high school level he has shown the ability to play both tackle and guard, giving Oklahoma flexibility as he develops once he arrives in Norman. That type of positional versatility is something Bedenbaugh has long valued, as the Sooners often cross train linemen to ensure the best five players can be on the field.

With his size, physical style of play, and ability to line up at multiple spots, Ross fits the mold of the type of offensive lineman Oklahoma has consistently developed into impact players under Bedenbaugh.
