The Path to Norman
Nigel Smith was part of an excellent 2024 defensive line for the Sooners. A football and basketball player out of Texas, Smith was a top-200 recruit with several dozen offers. He came to Norman several times to scope out the terrain, where Coach Bates and Coach Chavis prioritized the big man. As the 2023 season kicked off, Smith committed to the Sooners over A&M, Ohio State, Texas, Georgia, and plenty more.
