The Path to Norman

Trystan Haynes was one of three Carl Albert (Oklahoma) high school products to join the Sooners in the 2025 recruiting class. Haynes played receiver and returned kicks in high school, but was primarily recruited as a cornerback. He had an extremely long offer list of top programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, and more. However, Coach Valai got Haynes’ commitment in the spring of 2024.

TFB’s JY provided his thoughts on Haynes shortly after this commitment; you can find that at the link below.

Highlights

This Season

The cornerback room will feature a group of returning players, such as Kendel Deolby, Gentry Williams, Eli Bowen, and Jacobe Johnson, plus several freshman. Haynes will likely take a redshirt season this fall and prepare to be an impact player in future years.
