The Path to Norman

Damonic Williams played high school ball in California. He had offers from Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, and more, but ended up at TCU. He had two superb seasons with the Horned Frogs before entering the transfer portal.

When he hit the portal after his sophomore season, Williams was a hot commodity. Plenty of big schools received trips, including LSU and Texas, with Missouri also receiving a visit. The Sooners came out on top and landed the big man.

Career so Far

In his first college season, Williams made a name for himself. He started in all 15 games at TCU, including a National Championship appearance, and was sixth on the team in both sacks and TFL. Williams was named a true freshman All-American by both 247 and College Football News.

2023 was another productive year for Williams. He started in all 12 games, earned honorable mention All-Big 12, and finished fourth on the team in TFL and third in sacks.

In his first season with the Sooners, Williams played in every game, starting in all but one. He was sixth on the team in tackles and part of an interior defensive line that was as impressive as any group on the team.

This Season

The Sooners got a win in keeping Williams in Norman over the offseason. He’s set to once again start, with Jayden Jackson, David Stone, and Gracen Halton all being key factors in the interior line as well. The lineman has become one of OU’s leaders on the defense and is ready for a big final season.
