The Path to Norman
Logan Howland, a member of OU’s 2023 class, came to Norman from farther than most. The New Jersey product received an OU offer at the 2022 spring game; Howland also made his way to Norman for ChampUBBQ that summer. Despite playing mostly tight end and defensive end in high school, he was viewed as an offensive line prospect for college. A final five of Iowa, Michigan, Vanderbilt, and Miami was not enough to deny Coach Bedenbaugh a commit later that summer.

Career so Far
Howland took a redshirt season in 2023, playing in just one game.
In 2024, Howland was a much bigger factor. He played in all 13 games, earning six starts at left tackle. After finding his groove, Howland proved one of the Sooners’ most consistent presences on the line.

This Season
Howland had shoulder surgery this January, limiting his spring ball. Jacob Sexton has been working at left tackle and may be the day one starter. However, Howland now has a season of experience under his belt. Once he is fully recovered from his surgery, he will be a big factor and push hard for the starting job.
