The Sooners add a big piece to the 2026 class as priority interior defensive line target Brian Harris has announced his commitment to Todd Bates and Oklahoma!
Harris (6’3 290) chose the Sooners over an ‘A List’ of other offers. Bates and Oklahoma beat out schools like South Carolina, Penn State, Michigan, and Alabama for the commitment of the big defender.
OU offered Harris back on February 25th, and he wasted no time in getting up to Norman for a visit as he was on campus for the Sooners’ March 8th event.
After that visit, the Sooners moved into the top spot and never relinquished the lead. Bates and company developed a tremendous relationship with Harris and the people around him, and that led to him choosing the Sooners.
This is one of those cases where the offer list and the rankings do not match up as Harris was one of the more coveted linemen in the class this year.
Really nice addition to the class and Bates will be looking to add a couple more guys to the IDL room going forward.
