The Path to Norman
Nic Anderson comes to OU from Katy, TX. Anderson knows something about the Sooners, as he is the brother of former Sooners running back Rodney Anderson. Anderson held offers from just about every major program in the country and spent four months committed to Oregon. However, following a visit to Norman in October, Anderson flipped to Oklahoma in November, not long before signing day.

Career so Far
Anderson played in three games in the 2022 season and took a redshirt year.
In 2023, Anderson absolutely exploded onto the scene. He caught a few passes to start the season before an arrival party against Tulsa, when he caught three passes for 120 yards and three touchdowns. Anderson finished the season with 10 touchdown receptions, a freshman school record, and 798 receiving yards, second in OU freshman history. He was named a freshman All-American by the Athletic, a semifinalist for Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year, and earned All-Big 12 honorable mention. In his first season with a consistent field presence, Anderson was one of OU’s leading receivers and one of the biggest touchdown threats in the country.

Highlights
This Season
Anderson has been limited in camp due to a hamstring injury. On Sunday’s depth chart, he was listed as an “or” alongside Brenen Thompson. While Thompson enjoyed an excellent summer and will have a role with this 2024 offense, a healthy Nic Anderson can have a huge impact on the fortunes of this year’s team.
