Wait, are we even counting that *#!&ing Oregon game?

    • Sooner Ray says:

I’ve always counted that one as a win because it was stolen.

      • Andrew says:

Was that the game where the pass was deflected at the line of scrimmage and we got called on a pass interference?

          • kt-raida says:

How about Oregon didn’t even get the ball during that kickoffs we had it.

          • TDub says:

True. Every call that could be made wrong on that play was made wrong. They touched it before going 10 yards, we recovered it. The only thing beating the refs on that play was for an OU player to catch the ball and run out of bounds. Even then, I think the refs would have figured out some loophole to give Oregon the ball.

          • Eric Hoffpauir says:

The replay official rightly caught a lot of flak for failing to reverse it, but I never understood how the ref who got the ball from the OU player didn’t say, “You know, an OU player gave me the ball after coming out of the pile. It’s OU ball.”

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Ugh, I still want a rematch.

      • pitbull17 says:

yes it was, and they didn’t even try to hide it.

      • Boomer4life says:

It would be cool to see a where are they now, on the ref who made that call in the Oregon game.

    • Learguy says:

Freaking game STILL pisses me off….

  • Ryan Cochran says:

I’ve known Antwan Goodley Sr. since I was 7 years old. We played peewee football (won the championship every year), high school football, and high school basketball together. He was, without doubt, the most talented athlete in Midland during that time. I saw him do things on the basketball court that would absolutely blow your mind.

Of course, he was also a troubled kid. We were close. We both got in trouble together, but Ant never seemed to know when enough was enough. When it was time to fold. When it was time to grow up. But, he was also a good person and always had his pal’s backs.

I shutter to think what would have happened if he had grown up in a stable home and taken advantage of his gifts. He was literally one of those once-in-a-lifetime kind of athletes.

Ant Jr. is almost like a second chance for him… It makes me so happy to see them together again.

We did not lose the Oregon game. That’s the stance I have and will forever take.

Epic Intro Video. Can’t wait to run the Vols out of Norman.

  • Andrew says:

The Hitler video is a classic!!!!!

  • Adrian says:

Well The Tennessee story could be bad news as well. If those Freshmen come in to Norman determined and playing together and OU looks past them, it could be bad. and what about next year when we lose players and go TO Tennessee and they’re bringing all those players back? I think we SHOULD win but we have to be consistent every week with that underdog mentality

    • Eric Hoffpauir says:

I would hope it would be something like the 2010 FSU game. A lot of FSU fans talked trash about the amazing talent they had put together, and we basically had to call off the dogs by the time it was over. Then in 2011, they talked even more trash, and still lost.

    • DCinAZ says:

Meh…….Tennessee has had many super groovy top 10 uber classes over the past several years and no matter how mightily they flap their wings, the gravitational pull of suck is just too much for them to overcome. Tennesse had a few good seasons in the 90’s but that’s about as far as they’re ever going to go.

      • John says:

I wouldn’t underestimate the coaching of Butch Jones. Tennessee will be ready. We better be as well. This OU team seems focused so I expect our coaches and the players will be.

  • John says:

Kudos to Men’s Gymnastics!! Bring it home guys! Shout out to Aaryn. You go girl! An AA even if is an honorable mention is something special.

  • John says:

Great intro video BTW. Thanks for posting!!

    • Jordan Esco says:

Thanks should really go to the guy who made it b/c it is (as you said) fantastic

  • Alexander says:

No game bothers me more than the 08 title game. The level of talent that team had there is no excuse for losing to anyone. Hope I’m wrong, yet I don’t see us having a team that stacked for another decade at least

    • Zack says:

I agree that game shouldn’t have been close. I think Bradford threw 2 picks both in Florida territory and maybe both in the redzone. But as far as talent it was stacked but Florida was loaded too. And injuries kept a couple of our key guys out while one key player from them came back from injury and ran all over the place. The only thing keeping this current team from being that good in 2 years is the 2 starting OT will be gone and a few guys could leave early. But I think this team has potential to be that good.

      • Alexander says:

This team does have great potential, I’m just not seeing the level of talent 08 had. A guy like Gresham for example who can’t be covered 1v1 and opens up the middle of the field. McCoy as well. There aren’t guys with that level of talent on the roster. With the class coming in having 3 players who will play 3 years then get drafted high their Jr years is the one I’m looking at to have the possibility.
if I said this on the other site panties would get really sacred, but the deafening silence I’ve been hearing about Knight this spring is concerning me. Not saying he won’t start this year or anything crazy like that (did say he’d be the starter after seeing him in last year’s spring game) just have a gut feeling that Thomas may be too special after this season to sit. Really anxious to see the spring game to have a better gauge. Hoping to remove the conclusion I came to last year during the season thinking this team was 2 very good (now 1) recruiting class away from being a legit championship contender

        • Zack says:

Yeah I pretty much agree with all that. They do need some good classes back to back and to develop that talent. 3 years sounds about right if knight is the starting qb then. But I do think the talent on defense the next 2 years is impressive if they all stay for their senior year. I think the future hinges on whether heupel and the offensive coaches prepare the way they did for the sugar bowl every single week. What 3 do you think are staying 3 then leaving? Mixon, Todd, and Parker or quick?

          • Alexander says:

Not sure how panties wadded got auto corrected to scared.

Yes, Mixon, Parker, & Quick. Todd is very good but those 3 have abilities that put them on another level, slightly. Yet in fairness to Todd, who is a cool dude btw I need to watch film for the entire class. Have only watched about 6-7 players in the class.

One player I no longer need to add to the watch film list is Flowers. Per a presser after practice today I can’t recall Stools giving more praise to a guy in recent memory. Bob said he’s “elated” in the play of the frosh and that if he switched jerseys and had dreads you’d think it was Millard out there. Through another source though it sounds like Dimitri is doing things that Tre could never do already and is truly going to be “special”.

Bell got dinged today, but is looking good. Young WR are having some growing pains. Norvell has never graded out a WR as high as Shep has this spring. Baseball is not ever going to get in the way for Thomas. Ross continues to dominate in practice. Ahmad Thomas & Byrd both are looking great. Thomas made an amazing play today. Battle for starting CB aside from Sanchez is down to Taylor & Austin. Knight had a lot of good things to say about Stanvon who remains to be the frontrunner in my opinion. Flowers is weighing in at 240 while making plays all over the field

          • Zack says:

I can agree with that I think mixon is a good guy and genuinely likes ou but at his position guys gotta make the jump to the nfl when they can. To me the deciding factor would be what the team accomplishes in their junior year 2017 if knight is still the qb they probably leave since that would be his last year.
And I agree Parker has the talent I just don’t know if he will get enough playing time until his junior season unless he takes over when Hayes leaves but I thought Parker Byrd and Thomas were all the same position and the coaches could slide one over.
If flowers has potential to be better than Millard, watch out. That’s scary.
I watched some of Todd’s film and I know scouts are down on his speed but I think he has top end speed and is good in space. I guess scouts want to see him get off the line better, but he looks real smooth.
