  • Eric Hoffpauir says:

Kudos to Ryan Broyles. There are an awful lot of people in this country who would love to live on $60K a year, but I imagine he’s surrounded by people who pressure him to spend all his millions right now, from peers who squander their own salaries to old “friends” who come out of the woodwork to suck off the teat.

  • Jeremy Phillips says:

LJ’s receivers killed him.. Especially the tight end…

    • Brad Warren says:

Exactly, #81 – the te – dropped an easy td on the 3 yd line that he walks in. #15 dropped another td pass. Yes, clearly he has vast room for improvement but add those 2 drops as tds and they probably win and his stat line looks much better.

  • Eric Hoffpauir says:

That summary of Jones was a little unfair. He didn’t get much help from his receivers – lots of drops. He’s not scaring Roethlisberger out of his job, but LJ has definitely improved.

2015 pump up video same as 2014?

  • Cush Creekmont says:

Broyles is a smart young man. After his playing days, he can become an adviser to those who do not understand money. In a day of instant gratification, his example stands tall.

    Amani Bledsoe visiting today…

4-star Lawrence (KS) prospect @amani_bledsoe tells me he and fellow Lions DL @Trey_Georgie will visit #Oklahoma and #OKState today #Big12

Good Morning fellow Brainiacs, ” It’s always a great day to be a SOONER “. I was watching a replay of the 2005 game against Baylor last night and C.J. Ah You and Dusty Dvoracek were tearing it up. Then I started thinking about C.J.’s Nephew Chaz Ah You, K or Esco do you know if we are still in the hunt for this young man? If he has anywhere near the intensity that his uncle had he should be a good one. Thanks in advance.

  • Krys Allen says:

Wow, that OUDaily article has a quote from Dimitri Flowers saying he lost 15-20lbs… seems like that would make him too light for a full back?

    • Cam says:

It probably would in a power run scheme, but in a more passing focused playbook it would make him more versatile by being able to line up as a fullback or motion out to tight end or receiver.

      • Krys Allen says:

I would just be concerned about being able to block that light… I thought he was only 240 to begin with… this would put him at 220.

        • JR says:

That is probably his program weight which is always going to be lighter as summer and early fall conditioning you will always lose weight. I bet he plays most of this season around 230 or so.

  • EasTex says:

For any folks in the Idabel area or from there, y’all have a good one in your high school coach.

Just watched another pump video. It was heavy on Knight highlights. I don’t know who should start but if there is anyway that LR can get Knight to be consistent It could get nasty. that kid has so much ability. There is a throw he makes against TCU where the ball in the air and hit Shep 54yds down the field and then when you watch him make the runs he did against ISU man. Come on LR get him right in the head and turn him loose!

    • blaster1371 says:

I am one of those guys who has been saying Knight’s play last season was puzzling and just not acceptable. While no one player can cost a team a game, he certainly made achieving victories a tougher challenge than it should have been. With that said, I hope he is a Boykin 2.0 story. He is OU’s guy, the coaches recruited him, he hitched his horse to the OU wagon, he put in the work. He is great for the program and has put his body on the line for this team. I have nothing against Mayfield. But something about Knight and C Thomas makes me root for them just a little bit more. I think most here have a bottom line of best player gets the job; and, there is nothing wrong with that. I just hope that guy is Knight so he can get some redemption.

      • John Garner says:

Agree about TK’s play, but I still think the fault for most of that rests with JH.

        • Daddy R says:

Yea, any system that does NOT teach the QB’s to read the field, is just setting them up for failure. I noticed during last nights Hall of Fame game, the telecasters mentioned as much about Landry’s time at OU. Saying, “that everything at Oklahoma was read pre-snap, and the quarterbacks do not have to read the field in that type of system…” or something to that effect.

          • John Garner says:

Yeah, that might account for some of TK’s play and picks, especially the inexplicable one vs KSU. What I’m seeing on the internet is that LR is a better teacher of QB play. Hopefully that’s true and we’ll see improvement at that position.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

I think Landry was quoted in an article saying the Steeler offense wass completely different that what he ran at OU. He went on to say that most of the read was pre-snap at OU. It was in an article linked in TFB post the other day.

  • Indy_sooner says:

Talking of RB, K are you guys planning to do the WR ratings like you did a year ago? With all the new guys on campus, it would be great to see how they rank and progress

  • blaster1371 says:

The vine of Gabe Ikard and the other fella throwing down the horns sign made my day! I enjoy seeing people publicly hate on texass. BTW, their is a slight breeze out here in CenCal….must be texass sucking.

“I don’t negotiate in the media, nor do I disclose negotiations to the press,”……Then goes on a 200 word spiel about the negotiations.

  • Daddy R says:

I’ll give ya that Landry could have hit a few more throws (1 TD to Coates for certain..), but this article posted above, written by someone at NBC is just plain off… His receivers were in the wrong spots all night, as you could tell by Landry’s constant BARKING at them. I was actually happy to see that from him, as to me, that shows he has a pretty good grip of the offense, and where his receivers are supposed to be. He had 1 TD completely DROPPED, and the INT was not his fault. Going 16 of 32 with a bunch of scrubs, when you’ve been playing with the number 1’s in practice for a week and a half, will do that to ANY QB. Wish it would have looked better on TV, but I think LJ did enough to warrant some more looks, thats for sure. The article linked by a TFB poster yesterday, had said that Landry has looked really good in practice with the number 1’s… Good luck Landry!

  • BigJoeBrown says:

Really cool to see womens softball program get an upgrades. If there is one program that deserves it it’s the OU softball team. The womens program is just straight up dominant, it’s sick. Patti Gasso just seems to be able to churn out All_Americans.

  • ALXMAC says:

That article about Will Shields growing up in Lawton was a good read, but the author of it did his best to make Lawton sound like 1980’s Detroit. Borderline sensationalism.
