FOOTBALL

You gotta respect a guy who can post a video of himself like this. Helps that he’s 6’2″ 240 plus. But still, respect.

Gawd I love Perine! And the way he’ll throw a shoulder into the defensive back as he’s going out of bounds just “because!” Getting close now!

    • JB says:

I think Samaje Perine is THE BEST RB in the country. I admit to some bias, but the numbers tend to support this notion.

It’s another great day to be a SOONER!!!!

  • Sooner 4Ever says:

The “watch out” flyball prank was posted by Tom Mabe. He’s infamous for recording pranks he pulled on telemarketers when they would call his house. If you have never seen this one, take a couple of minutes and check it out. He really has this telemarketer going for a bit.

“The sheriff likes Stelly’s Restaurant. The food is good, and the people are friendly.”

    Cracked me up.

  • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

And serious question: How could anyone see what Perine can do and then think, “You know what? Keep him seated. We’ll just force the pass”?

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

We need to score more points this year. 36 a game is not the standard. But with a running AND passing game, OU should be a top 5 offense. You can’t win in the Big 12 with just a great running game (we proved that in 2014) and play-action passes. This is not the SEC. Teams can score. I think a 2008 offense which featured two-thousand-yard backs and a dynamic passing game is the way to go. As long as we have an accurate QB, I don’t mind not seeing Perine out there every series.

      • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

Let’s hope, man. But I’m talking last year. When our passing game was, you know, what is was.

      • SoonerinLondon says:

Last year we had a 1,700 yard rusher AND gave up the fewest sacks in the country, yet somehow didn’t score enough. Hmmm.

      • JB says:

You are right…can’t be one dimensional. If you want to be a dominant team, you have to be balanced on offense, passing and running the ball.

    • L'Carpetron Dookmarriot says:

It takes real skill to do that.

  • Big Tiddays says:

I wish I hadn’t seen the Banshee news. I’m clinically depressed and that bit of news has got me feeling sore in my mind. I need to call my dr, I’m out.

    • Jordan Esco says:

      You watch Strike Back?

      • Charles Flood says:

I could watch that from season 1 to present over and over and still enjoy every bit of it!

        • Jordan Esco says:

It’s so good. Ultimate “guy” show mind you, but so, so good at what it does. Pumped it’s finally back (even if it is the final season) this Friday!

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

I’m thinking of starting Strike Back. Is it as good as Banshee?

          • Cush Creekmont says:

It’s good – fun and exactly as Jordan says “guy” show. Has to be taken a little lightly with all the battles, but it is worth it!

          • Jordan Esco says:

They’re very different, so hard to say one is definitively better than the other, IMO. I thoroughly enjoy both. Would highly recommend Strike Back, fwiw.

        • Cush Creekmont says:

For something to watch over-and-over (other than the OU win over ND), DEADWOOD is the best western series ever made.

  • Lincoln Hawk says:

Does anybody else feel like the Crime Stoppers video could have been Jordan about to put the Ban Hammer down on CastorBoy Troy? “After that, I’m gonna have a cheeseburger here with fries and a coke, and leave a nice tip for the waitress”. That was awesome, great stuff.

The Kimmel piece was utter brilliance! “How To Disassemble A D-Rocket In Three Easy Steps”

  • Rick says:

As a professional truck driver, I am happy to report that I have never in my 3 million mile career, never caught that much air under my tractor (intentionally). HAHA

    • SoonerGoneEast says:

To put a 17k pound truck in the air like that was impressive, but the recovery from the blowout was equally impressive.

      • Rick says:

Very much so!!!! I have survived 2 steer tire blowouts, both were manufacturing flaws. Although, at a lower speed and fully loaded. I just steered to the shoulder and kept off the brakes. His stop is impressive in that there is very little control when you are bobtail, and his steers were on steel to boot. Under power, the tractor always wants to corkscrew with the torque, a very good operator indeed.

  • KJ1123 says:

They’re cancelling Banshee??? Sucks…they killed too many people off too quick.

    • Jordan Esco says:

Not cancelling (though I suppose it’s somewhat semantics). The showrunners are simply wrapping it up b/c they will have told the story they wanted to tell. Banshee is Cinemax’s highest rated show, so they’re definitely not “cancelling” it, fwiw.

      • KJ1123 says:

Ahh that makes sense, hope they bring in a couple of new antagonists, I like the skinhead story line so far. I like Strike Back too, but I like the characters on Banshee better.

  • Shelby is a Patriot says:

They might as well end Banshee after that crappy third season. Almost as bad as season 8 of Dexter. Almost.

    • Jordan Esco says:

      You bite your damn tongue!

      • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Haha, Just speaking the truth. The first two seasons were awesome. The third ruined it.

      • Rick says:

Jordan, I had a post removed during discussion, marked as “Detected As Spam”. I read about it on the Disqus help line. It suggested I report it to a mod, so I am reporting. Thanks

        • Jordan Esco says:

          thank you

        • OohRah Mama says:

Rick I hope it wasn’t me…I have a touchscreen and I’m always having to undo things I accidentally do when I’m scrolling. If it was, please let me know. That goes for the rest of y’all too, okay? :O Although I don’t even see where spam is.

edit: Yep, them thar’s the flaggy things right to the right side. Ack.

          • Rick says:

No problem, There are the false positives the computerized spam filters create at times and there is the errant tap of the screen at times. I think we all have been the recipient of or the cause of at some time. Don’t give it a second thought, all is well. Boomer!

Speaking of Semaja I remember him meeting with Earl Campbel after receiving his running back award. Earl gave him some running advice on how to deliver blow when running, can’t wait to see.

I think it is silly that there isn’t a single roster spot in the NBA for Osby. He would be an instant upgrade over most of the bums on NBA benches.
