I could be way off, but I feel like this rarely, if ever, works out well.

This is apparently a big deal.

Hope Gresham catches on with the Packers. Good fit.

  • lovethemsooners says:

Sure would love to see Gresham end up in Philly too.

  • Jason Vos says:

Surprised the Eagles aren’t going harder after Gresham

    • CPSooner says:

Yeah and don’t forget about Kenny Stills and Adrian Peterson….They’d probably want them too. I hate Philly and they just keep picking up my beloved Sooners!

      • hemisooner says:

Hate Philly too. Now we have to cheer for Bradford and Murray. It’s bad enough I have to put up with Dez and Randle. Nothing worse than cheering for a cowpoke or shorthorn.

        • CPSooner says:

no doubt….It’s also crazy how 9000 Sooner fans, and 9000 Cowboy fans come together in unison to cheer for a shorthorn at a Thunder game.

          • hemisooner says:

hahaha, that’s why I to have drink at the Thunder games. Doesn’t feel right

        • SoonerinLondon says:

Worked in Philly a couple of years. Have to say I really liked it. Sure, the city has a chip on it’s shoulder because it gets treated as NY’s stepchild, but the people are the smartest sports fans in the world and very sincere.

Great history, bars, restaurants and pretty good culture.

When I lived there, it was before internet access and before I could afford to fly home to every OU game. There was not a radio station that carried Sooner football in Philly, but was in DC.

The radio station in DC played their own content to people who called and were put on hold, so I made a deal to call the radio station every Saturday and the guy would put me on hold so I could listen to the Sooners.

We became friends and he was great. He’d pick up the phone at halftime and say “How ya doin? OK? Sooners looking sounding pretty good today.”

It’s one of my favorite Sooner memories, actually.

          • Fear The Magic says:

Just to verify, Philly IS NY’s Step child.

          • SoonerinLondon says:

            LOL, hence the chip.

          • Fear The Magic says:

lol I get it but on a good note at least Philly makes good cheesesteaks!

          • SoonerinLondon says:

Oh man! I love them. I worked across from the stock exchange, at 18th & Market, and there was a guy in front of my building with the best steaks. They were outstanding. Like having a brick in your stomach, lol.

          • Fear The Magic says:

Stop it, youre making me want to drive 90 miles down to Philly.

          • hemisooner says:

That’s a cool story but I still hate the Eagles. My level of hate 1A. Okie lite 1B. Texas 2. St Louie Cardinals 3. Eagles 4. SEC….I’m not allowed in stoolwater

          • SoonerinLondon says:

Ha! My most-hated list is 1. Dallas Cowboys, 2. Texas Longhorns, 3. OsU Cowboys.

          • hemisooner says:

I know my Dallas Cowboys are hated and I get it. hahaha

          • CPSooner says:

Very cool story….I have nothing personal against the city or people, just a rival to Dallas.

          • WilliamJack says:

Great story! We do what we can to get our Sooner fix!

          • soonermusic says:

love the ‘on hold’ story…very cool.

          • Baron Boomer says:

Great story- where in the uk are you based (I work in Westminster)
            Regards,
            Baron Boomer

          • SoonerinLondon says:

Baron, I was in London 1998-2003. We left and moved to Tulsa for a year, then to Hong Kong until 2007, when we moved to Sarasota Florida. We’ve settled in Florida. I keep the name because “I’ll just always be SiL.”

While in London, we lived in Ealing. We were in Fairseat Cottage, Liverpool Road…across from Thames Valley University and around the corner from Ealing Studios.

My daughter was born there and, in fact, we’re taking her back for the first time in August.

      • Fear The Magic says:

Big time NY Giants fan here. Im totally with you on this.

    • Birddawg says:

Cool idea but they already have Ertz as a breakout candidate and a veteran in celek.
Not sure but does chip Kelley even uses TE’s that much in his system?

    • SoonerinLondon says:

Go Pack Go! We need him! He needs to play with the best QB in the world and help them get to Super Bowl 50.

  • Exiled In Ohio says:

I hadn’t heard that Palange was leaving. In the old offense, he might have been a beast. I guess the old-fashioned FB just doesn’t fit into the new system.

    • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

I was wanting to see if he was as mean as he looks. Best of luck to him.

  • Zack says:

I like that stat about OU being 102nd in drives that went without a first down or td. If that number jumps up to the top 20 then I think we will see a special season.

  • BleedCrimson says:

    G-Day minus 43
    Rod Shoate AA

    • EasTex says:

Ten years before the “Boz” there was 3-time AA Rod Shoate.
The most memorable OU defenses always had a great LB.

      • Cush Creekmont says:

I will always remember Larry Lacewell saying that if freshmen had been eligible, OU would not have lost the 1971 game-of-the-century because Rod Shoate would have played.

    • Cush Creekmont says:

Greatest Sooner LB (I like Boz, I like several others – Shoate was/is #1)

  • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

Dimitri Flowers. My dude. Hoping he has that Millard stiff-arm down by now.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

I hope we see more of Flowers this year.

    • Exiled In Ohio says:

I do too, but I thought the conventional wisdom was that LR’s offense wasn’t suited to his talents. I was surprised he tweeted that he liked it.

      • Christian Taylor says:

it is kinda if you consider flowers receiving ability, he will probably play more of a tightend role imo.

  • Chris White says:

So Josh Heupel is taking Joey Palange? I wonder if Josh is running his Zone Read type offense or if he’s going back to his Spread like with Bradford?

  • Mike Reed says:

Love seeing the offensive players getting stoked about the new offense!!

  • ND52 says:

Steve Patterson is to the Texas Longhorns what Donald Trump was to the USFL.

To truly destroy an organization, you have to do it from the inside………..
