The dog on the kid, LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

  • Jeremy Phillips says:

Narcos looks like another solid Netflix project..

  • boomersooner says:

It good to see lampkin staying “cool” through all this

    • EasTex says:

Hate to see a kid get burned like this.

      • boomersooner says:

Oh I just meant the picture

      • Stephen Dale says:

the kid is not getting burned…..he wants one thing ; his momma another. seems like a guy who’ll wind up somewhere in the SEC

        • Jordan Esco says:

Texas told him his future position coach wasn’t going anywhere then the guy promptly left for another job. Neither side is w/o fault here, that much is clear.

        • SamSooner says:

          Kick Rocks!!

    • DrewChubbs says:

I know hindsight is 20/20 and all, but I have to at least wonder if Texass wouldn’t be quite so stubborn about Lampkin if maybe he didn’t come out and say he was going to try going to OU when he realized being a whorn was looking to be a long shot at the beginning of the summer.

EDIT: Is there any precedent concerning the conditional release of a student athlete from his or her NLI? For example, “We will let you out of your NLI due to your inability to meet our enrollement requisites…provided you agree to not attend and play for our hated rival.”

      • boomersooner says:

Yeah. Completely agree. I hate what’s happening to him and I loathe tejas but I was just talking about his nipples in the picture. Swing and a miss for my humor

  • EasTex says:

The Ian Boyd piece was well done.

    • SoonerGoneEast says:

Indeed, he puts out some great articles, with that Preseason All Big 12 piece from last week being the exception.

    • EasTex says:

I love this young man’s video. As a pulling guard from my playing days I am thoroughly impressed with his body control, quickness and technique.
Would love to hear what JY has to say about this big boy.

  • SavageSoonerEsq says:

I’m not usually one that condones negative recruiting tactics, but I hope OU shows possible recruits how UT is handling Lampkin and how Texas Tech handled Mayfield (I’m sure there are plenty other examples), and then shows them how OU has been gracious when allowing players and/or incoming freshman to transfer without restrictions. Not only does this show that they could have a built-in contingency plan if something goes awry at OU, it also shows the character of the coaches at the respective schools.

    • Lane Gilstrap says:

How about Bama releasing that lineman that didn’t get to come back after they found that he did nothing wrong.

      • SavageSoonerEsq says:

I don’t remember hearing about that one, but it doesn’t surprise me. Most of the family of the players want their kids to go to a school where they will be treated like family. Well, you’d think that when they see the sick games these elite universities are playing with lives of these young men that it would give them pause. OU can give these athletes the same opportunities as any other university (unless you want to argue the merits of academic opportunities at schools like Stanford), plus you get coaches and administrators with HIGH character who are truly looking at what is in the best interests of these young men.

  • Jordan Esco says:

Personally, I thought that Rousey deal was straight fire. But then again that’s pretty much her everyday M.O. Still though, that was freaking awesome.

  • Cush Creekmont says:

The poor little kid with the dog on him was funny, but after I thought about the parent camera operator, I would have stopped filming and gotten the dog off my kid.

    • EasTex says:

I had the same thought and what kind of parent would upload the vid of his child being traumatized?

      • John Garner says:

Wow, you’re right. Now I feel bad for having laughed.

      • BleedCrimson says:

I got a chuckle initially, but then felt for the kid also. Hopefully, the kid will be able to laugh it off in the future. I think that most of us that have been raised with animals in our lives have had a mutt that was afflicted with a similar problem.

  • BleedCrimson says:

    G-Day minus 51
Three All-Americans with the number 51
    Wayne Lee AA

    • EasTex says:

      Excellent choice!
      A few other names for #51…Bill Bechtold/Kurt Burris/Broderick Simpson.

      • BleedCrimson says:

Thank you EasTex. Will have to see if I can find a pic of them.

        • EasTex says:

The countdown, numbers slowly getting lower.

          • BleedCrimson says:

I know I am getting psyched. I am so ready for live action, instead of the replays.

          • EasTex says:

I know what you mean. I have watched so many of the replays I have even taken to watching some against UTEP, Tulsa, ULM and La Tech.

Have you seen this one? It will need updating in a couple of years.

            https://youtu.be/dx8cpJS3L80

          • Slim Sooner says:

Love this video. Just watched it again twice. Unforgettable Sooners.

          • BleedCrimson says:

Yes sir, Great video, it has been on my favorites list for a while now. Never gets old. I believe you are correct in that it will need updating shortly. I watch a lot of old OU Youtube video, just to appreciate the history of Excellence thru the years.

          • Slim Sooner says:

Me, too. I’m reduced to watching everything I’ve got or can find to pass the slow hell dog days till this season finally starts. Thanks for the countdown pics.

  • BleedCrimson says:

    G-Day minus 51
Three All-Americans with the number 51
    Kurt Burris AA

    • SoonerLove says:

I bet Shannon would have been a preseason All-American too if he would have had the opportunity to play last year…Super pumped for this season to start.

    • EasTex says:

Good job, I didn’t see you had posted Burris’ image before I commented below.

  • BleedCrimson says:

    G-Day minus 51

    Carl McAdams AA
Fred Biletnikoff in background is awesome!

    J Laaawwww…

  • Bob Edwards says:

Only twenty three days till we can start complaining about Stoops not letting any information out of practice.

  • SoonerGoneEast says:

Alabama Ring Head Guy reminded me of The Ten dumbest Fanbases In America series Clay Travis wrote. It should come as no surprise that Alabama came in at number one. I don’t read much of what he puts out, but he did say some things that were pretty funny/accurate about bama fan.

Some of the comments are worth reading too!

  • Zack says:

I wonder if espn is anywhere near fallen off their pedastool. Saw Jordan retweet that they’ve lost over 3 million subscribers in the last year (wonder if that has more to do with no football for the last 6 months and may pick back up soon). But cowherd is now leaving. So is olbermann(not a big deal) but it seems their hosts keep looking for greener grass.

I would love to see fox go all in and try to steal their audience.

    • EasTex says:

I have heard many complaints from people all over the country about espn’s all sec all the time coverage. It’s possible that has had an impact.
As for Fox Sports, it seems they are having financial troubles and have had to lay some people off.

    • SamSooner says:

I’ve been saying all along that one day the Executives at ESPiN are going to wake up one day and realize that no one wants their product.

      • Zack says:

It seems like targeting households in Louisiana, Alabama and miss would be a bad business model. They aren’t overly populated and aren’t the weathiest of states. They just have fans who are buying what espn is selling for now.

        • SamSooner says:

You are absolutely correct, Zack. That garbage appeals to them for now. I honestly don’t watch very much ESPiN.

I was in the break area in my office, just a few minutes ago. There are TVs on ESPN. They are all over the SEC Media Day. You watch, they will not give the other conferences this kind of coverage.

          • Zack says:

And I don’t want to take away from the sec. I think they have brilliant people working for them and they managed to take advantage of the spotlight they earned.

    • SoonerGoneEast says:

I believe many of their subscribers have moved on because aside from live games, much of their programming, SportsCenter included, is being replicated thru different media. I can pull highlights of games up on my iPad or iPhone in just a minute or two, and not have to waste valuable time in front of the TV or digest all the bias that comes with the ESPN agenda.

I’d love to see Fox go after ESPN, but it will more likely be a number of competitors that eventually chip away at their massive grip on live games. If that’s ever going to happen, it won’t be soon enough!

      • SoonerGoneEast says:

And I should also mention those @#!$%@!#’s shoved the LHN down my throat too. There’s another reason to dislike their influence in sports media.

    • Soonerfandave84 says:

ESPN has moved away from sports much the same way MTV moved away from music videos

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

Charlie Strong needs to take a page out of BS book and release Lampkin. I get so tired of these schools holding these kids hostage.

  • Indy_sooner says:

Boren/Cast/ Stoops makes the cluster over at Texas look lame. How do you botch the hires at arguably the most lucrative/ successful football program in the country?
Hire a new AD, FB and BB Coach and subsequently drive them to change “personal style”…. really? Maybe the problem is with the boosters themselves.
I thought when you set out to hire a CEO, you do so expecting full integration of their fabric- mannerisms, and business acumen that comes with it. Oh, these whorns….

    • SamSooner says:

      I smell what you’re cooking.

    • EasTex says:

It is a strange place there, arrogance drips from the trees and oozes from the walls.

      • Bob Edwards says:

They actually give degrees in arrogance.

    • Jeremy Phillips says:

Wondering, with this new OL offer, what it is that a guy like Rowdy Frederick is missing..? Does JY have an opinion on that…?

      • Jordan Esco says:

He hasn’t camped w/ OU and I think the coaches just want to see him in some games this season. Combine that w/ their scholarship numbers and the likelihood they take somewhat of a smaller OL class.

Honestly, I think it’s that simple.

    • KJ1123 says:

This kid is pretty good. Watched his 1 on 1s from the opening, had some good reps.

  • KellyB says:

The Vine of the kid and the dog … er …. um …well …. “greeting” his sibling literally brought me to tears

  • SavageSoonerEsq says:

TFB is always my first stop. However, I clicked over to Ouinsider and noticed that the “Thursday Headlines” appear to be locked now. Is this a recent development?

    • John Garner says:

Once I discovered TFB, I cancelled my OUInsider subscription. Haven’t looked back.
