Good FOOTBALL Morning to all TFBERS,Its 6:49 and texsa SUCKS!
Of course they do! And their mascot has no ….
Texsa doe’s suck.
Good morning, fellow Brainiacs!! Calcaterra was a beast in the Opening and is going to make a great weapon in Riley’s offense. FOOTBALL!!!
Yessir. The young man was a catching machine. I only saw parts of the play, but if I heard correctly OUr recruits had 3 of the all tourney spots.
J.r.
FOOTBALL, Metz!!
Good morning everyone, time to get this FOOTBALL Monday Amped up!
Sparky!
How ’bout Vapor Speed / SS17 – Quite a group of TALENTS.
You said it..Quite a group. Good chemistry as well. OU has a good chance to add to the great start. Looks like a special recruiting year.
They beat FlyRush 38-20 so quite a showing. Calcaterra, Reagor and Robison in particular were impressive from the little bit that I followed.
I wonder how long Calcaterra will be considered a three star guy?
Yeah, I wonder why OU offered a player rated so low. /sssssssssssssss
Mac never would. Perhaps 5*s and all that great play we got from Metoyer (along with the citizenship) should be the way OU recruits….
He absolutely crapped on the competition. That fourth star will come. Although it is ESPN and they seem to have the love affair with the southern boys.
FWIW ESecPN has him as a 4star and 260 in their top 300 players.
dang you beat me to this! haha I commented pretty much this exact statement above before I scrolled down!
I just saw that lol. I guess I beat you because I’m negalecting my duties that I have Monday through Friday! haha
I think he is a 3star on all the other recruiting sites.
That’s because he is a hybrid player. If they rank him as a WR he doesn’t have the quicks of an elite receiver. If they rank him as a TE he doesn’t have the size to be an elite TE. This always happens with players who don’t fit the mold of a particular position. They may be great athletes and may make a huge impact with someone who knows how to take advantage of their skillset, but since they don’t fit the pattern they have for a particular position they don’t get rated as high.
Totally agree with you, Bob.
You are right!
ESPN is actually the only service to have him as a 4 star. He’s actually somewhere around #260 in the ESPN300. They definitely got in him way before the other sites. Every one else has him as a 3 star. Kid is hella good.
Well then I stand corrected 🙂
This camp probably pushes him to 4*. If not, then all the new offers between now and FEB will.
Mondays suck almost as much as Texsa.
Oracle, Oracle, Oracle – If the world ended on a Monday, it could only tie texsa for suckiness.
Key word “almost”. But Texsa suckage knows no bounds.
737!
Metz!
We should have an daily news dedicated to The Opening. I saw a lot of discussion about Sooner Squad 17 and I am not a huge Twitter guy. It would be interesting to read notes on our boys.
They won it all. Grant is a total diamond in the rough and has better hands than Andrews already. Barron Browning retweeted a tweet that Mike and his daughter sent him. Okudah wishes he wasn’t with paired with all those Ohio state kids ( in my dreams ). This was the first of many championships for this class 😉
Tate Martel was trash out their , the Georgia commit carried them on offense.
He did look awful lol.
Especially against Vapor Speed , he didn’t register a single score against us.
Expecting Monday OP to be filled w SoonerSquad17 – Team Vapor Speed news and tweets … right, Jordon!? Uh… you hearing us, Jordon??
hOU!
Metzimus Maximus!! Get me, Dude!!
Si jefe!
That’s OUr first of many more championships for the SS17.

I must have that!
I am still working on the correct process. If we can get it worked out I could probably make them available on a very limited basis. This is a full powder coat, no decal SS cup. The entire cup is clear powder coated so it should only last about 100 years.
That’s what I’ve been looking for. I don’t care for the “wrap” stuff.
wow! really cool
Way cool. Put me down for one..pleassssssssssssssssssssse.
Put me on the list
Yep. Want one
Outstanding!
Whoa. Needs a TFB on it w exclusive Brainiacs distribution. Sweet.
Happy Monday all you Brainiac animals!!! Sounds like The Openng turned out to be a SoonerSquad17 coming for you party complete w Boomer Sooners.

WOW That dude is a beast!
uh, yeah. his video on twitter is ridiculous! competitor for sure!
I think Xavier Newman will flip to OU this week.
For sure! Having big daddy Trent at the camp will help as well. I saw that Newman is now following him on Twitter. Having NFL superstars present at these things is huge for recruiting.
Yup , Robert Barnes also tweeted about some Texas commits flipping from their commitment.
do we still have a shot at flipping Dobbins? His Sparq score was crazy.
He has some really nice hands. Easily one of the top RB’s at the opening.
How about that OP over the weekend 1200 plus comments, nice job TFBERS!!!!
It was impressive.
It was impressive too!
Best of all: there was actual information!
We don’t like to have our manhood challenged by the Mods…
Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So Malik Jefferson was at The Opening as a coach…..well, that sucks.
Yeah, but on the bright side. Malik isn’t in the pro’s or one of the top OT’s or players in the NFL at his position and has the paycheck to back it up.
Anybody here have an ESPN sub? Was wondering what this article had to say about us: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/insider/story/_/id/16956950/the-opening-2017-learned-means
One of the biggest lessons learned from The Opening is that Bob Stoops has already assembled one heck of a recruiting class. The Sooners had eight of their commitments playing in the event, highlighted by 10th-ranked receiver Jalen Reagor and top-10 cornerback Justin Broiles. By the end of The Opening, almost every single OU pledge made an impact in some fashion, further proving the Sooners’ No. 6 class ranking is no fluke.
“We knew we were one of the best classes in the country, but the way we played as a group against the talent here at The Opening proved to any haters we’re for real,” Reagor said. “We’ve already built a special bond together, but after this week, we’re even more confident that this isn’t just a good OU recruiting class — it’s a special class.”
Giving more belief to Reagor’s statement was the play of Sooners quarterback commitment Chris Robison and tight end pledge Grant Calcaterra.
Both were excellent in seven-on-seven pool play with Robinson getting compliments from camp counselors for his poise in the pocket and good decision-making. Calcaterra caught absolutely everything thrown in his direction, and his 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame created some tough matchup problems for defensive backs that OU offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley will surely love to utilize when he arrives in Norman.
Yes, there is still quite a ways until signing day, but led by players that starred at The Opening, Stoops will add even more depth and star power to sign a top-10 class and his best group in long time. — Jeremy Crabtree
Prediction: Oklahoma finishes with a top-10 class.
Scout’s take: The Sooners are building nicely off a successful 2015 season, assembling a class that has been around the top five nationally this entire cycle. The strong recruiting starts at home with commitments from the state of Oklahoma’s top three prospects, all of which rank in the ESPN 300. Not surprisingly, the Sooners are also doing well in Texas, with six commits from the Lone Star State including three among the ESPN 300. The class includes top-10 dual threat QB Chris Robison, who can fit well in OC Lincoln Riley’s air raid attack, but is a little more of a developmental prospect physically. With the arrival by transfer of former five-star Kyler Murray, Robison should be able to get some time to develop and offer some needed depth at the position once he arrives. With the departures of Sterling Shepard and Durron Neal, as well DeDe Westbrook nearing the end of his eligibility, the Sooners are looking to bring in some more talent and depth at receiver. Top-10 receiver Jalen Reagor leads this class and is a speedy target with big play potential and four-star Charleston Rambo needs to fill out his lanky frame, but has good height, ball skills and body control. A potential big weapon in the Sooners passing attack in this class is Grant Calcaterra, an ESPN 300 TE-H that possesses nice length, great hands and body control and has the size, speed and toughness to create matchup problems in the passing game. Defensively, Oklahoma returns good depth in the secondary this season, but with a need to reload in the backend quickly approaching, they have done a very nice job of landing talented corners with commitments from Justin Broiles, Tre Brown and Trajan Bandy, all of whom rank among the top 25 at the CB position. Signing day is still quite a ways away, but thus far Oklahoma has done a very nice job of landing talent and addressing needs. — Haubert
Awesome, thanks!
OP Up!
This nugget from the Baylor article above just goes to show how crazy the Baylor hype was…Crazy to think of all the hype that Baylor tried to create with Seastruck and here his pro career in regards to the NFL is nada and he is now just on the practice squad of a CFL team.
“Lache Seastrunk, the great Wildcat back who originally signed with Oregon and briefly thrust himself into the Heisman Trophy conversation while at Baylor, has continued his odyssey on the cusp of a professional career. That journey has taken him north of border. The United States border. Seastrunk bounced around NFL off-season and practice squads for Washington, Carolina, Tennessee and Dallas is now doing much the same in the Canadian Football League. Seastrunk was cut on the final day last month by the Calgary Stampeders and is now part of the practice squad for Saskatchewan.”

Interesting that aTm is ranked higher than ND and significantly higher than Texsa.
And higher than Dartmouth, Brown, Vandy, and Caltech. And only one below Yale.
Well, the list seems to be shooting for unconventional (at best), so I wouldn’t really give this one too much consideration. Dartmouth is at 33, and my school (which I regularly see in the top 15) is barely in the top 90. So yeah.
They re-configured the criteria. Almost like they were trying to determine the results.

“(Greg) Rogers and Tufele would be the big scores in the region, but Rogers also said he is close with Marvin Wilson, a Texas product who checks in as the nation’s No. 7 overall prospect. Oklahoma is a threat for both Rogers and Wilson, but so are the Trojans.
‘I talk to Marvin a lot about going to the same school,’ Rogers said. ‘I talk to Jay a lot, too. Me and Marvin are pretty close and we like to talk about those things, but we’ll go from there.'”
tate quit after getting her nose broke. That choke wasnt even under her chin, she just wanted out of the cage.
On a positive note, now she can get that thing fixed, only think keeping her from being pretty hot IMO.
I thought the same about her giving up on the choke, but her nose was so badly broken that the only way she might have been able to breath was through her mouth. Since the girls forearm was covering her mouth during the choke attempt it might have kept her from being able to get a breath at all. Just a thought.
Went back and looked at a picture, and the lower part of her mouth is covered by nunes’ forearm, she might been able to breathe out the upper part, but its kinda hart to tell since theres so much blood. You might be right.
Either way I’m not to sure that she would have made it another 30 seconds. What’s crazy is that is the 4th champion of that weight class in the last year.
She was done no doubt, choke or not. Ref would have stopped it from ground n pound.
They need to quit taking gambles on match ups. They keep devaluing all their high profile women’s match ups.
IMO the fight card took a big nose dive when Bones got caught for the failed test. The matchup of DC and Silva was one of the more boring fights I’ve watched. Waste of my money, really.
Agree completely. The silva fight was terrible. The lesnar fight was terrible. Cain trashed browne, and nunes trashed tate.
The only competitive fight was aldo-edgar, and aldo still handily won.
Guess thats why they didnt mind selling the company afterwards, lol.
Lol yeah, I guess. The next one that I chip in for will be UFC 202. I watched the McGregor and Diaz fight the first time. Can’t wait to watch the next one.
