Good BOOMER morning ladies and gentlemen.

BOOMER!!! Good morning, fellow Brainiacs!! Can we expect a BOOM from Hudson?!?!

  • SoonerMagic76 says:

Good morning brainiacs! Get out there and wear more Crimson than everyone else today. Boomer!

  • SamSooner says:

    Morning, all!!!!!!!

  • cush creekmont says:

Way to get after it Jordan! Nice early news! Need football more than ever now that GoT is over for the year….

    • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

That last episode was awesome, I still liked last weeks episode a tad more, but it was still awesome! Morning Cush

      • cush creekmont says:

We need to keep it quiet for a bit so we aren’t spoilers. I have had to watch as much as a week late.

I thought they did a fine job considering how MANY threads had to be addressed.

I plan to DVR and watch the “After Thrones” talk show to see their speculations.

When time has passed, there was one thing that I called several seasons ago

      • cush creekmont says:

And MORNING Vegas. I hope you had a great weekend!

  • cush creekmont says:

In the “Fails,” I thought the guy cheering at the graduation made a nice recovery after falling over the guardrail – flipped back up and cheer-danced down the aisle.

  • soonerbred4ever says:

    Good morning everybody!

  • ouwooferman says:

Morning all. 68 days till Kickoff. AAs- Anthony Phillips, Frank “Pop” Ivy

  • UGA Sooner says:

Not sure if anyone else is like this, but since I live in SEC country I love debunking their “greatness”. For anyone interested, here is a decent, short article about how fake Alabama’s national championships are
    http://southeasternfootball.com/debunking-alabamas-15-mythical-national-championships/

    • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Would love to get a Bama fans opinion on it.

      • UGA Sooner says:

I’m sure they’d just kick and scream until it was dropped… like Cam Robinson’s charges

        • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Bruh, tell me how in the hell his charges were dropped? My friend got arrested for 1 gram of MJ in Norman and was in jail for 2 days lol. I couldn’t care less about the MJ, it’s the fact he was rolling around with an illegal firearm. Bama fans explanation was ” there’s just too many weapons in the south for him to have known.” Wtf does that even mean? Like come on lol

          • UGA Sooner says:

What got me even more was that it was in Louisiana. Arguably Alabama’s second biggest rival rules that state. That is collusion and corruption out the a$$, but yet Saban is a “great guy” and “best coach ever”. Saban wouldn’t be anything if he wasn’t buddy buddy with Emmert from his time at LSU. The amount that the SEC gets away with is insane. Not to mention Tennessee aka Baylor 2.0

      • RocketCitySooner says:

Follow the links. Read the comments. Most bama fans are saying “its a myth that our championships are mythical.”

    • SoonerMagic76 says:

That’s excellent – thanks for sharing

    • Bob Edwards says:

Most of them live on a river in Egypt. You know, de nile.

  • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

When you realize it’s still 70 days until football and you’ve watched all your TV shows for the year

    • cush creekmont says:

Hey, spoiler alert. While I watched it, not everyone has…

      • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I guess that is a little telling, oh well. Hopefully they didn’t click on the picture 🙂

    Good morning TFB!

  • Ed Cotter says:

Congrats to OU Gymnastics Coach Mark Williams for being named Head Coach for the USA Men’s Gymnastics Team. He gets to coach his former Sooners in Rio. Go for the Gold guys!

  • Birddawg says:

Our good mornings alone have almost got us 100 comments..
More than the texsa side gets all week..
    Good morning all..

  • BigJoeBrown says:

Glad to hear about Spangler….hope it works out for him! Thunder Up!

On a side note….yeah, the Men’s tennis program looks like it is taking a few jaw drops with another coach leaving. They were one of the top programs in the country. Let see if Joe C. can work his magic.

  • BleedCrimson says:

68 DTG – 2 All Americans in this grOUp.
Anthony Phillips AA 84-88; Frank “Pop” Ivy AA 38; Kent Bradford 78; Howard Duncan 00-01

    • BleedCrimson says:

That was a nice interview. Didn’t know how close we were to losing Gasso after the 99 season.

  • Birddawg says:

After going through that Big 12 stat list…
OU is going to smash the big 12 into pieces..
    Wins vs
    1) teams that cant run the ball OSU
    2) teams cant stop the run WVU,TTU
    3) freshmen Qb UT
    4) Baylor mess BU
    5) Talent mismatches KU,KST,ISU
Can’t sleep on TCU.. Gary Patterson defense will be much improved and Cumbie/Meacham just need a QB to do the right things and this is a legit 10 win team.

    • ouwooferman says:

UT has had much success with untested QBs vs. OU. For me, I will not count this as a W till it is in the books. I agree with the rest of your post.

    • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

It really is this simple in my eyes. Ppl say WVU will be tough, but I’ve been hearing that since they joined the big12. Not only can they not stop the run, they also replace their entire secondary.

      • Birddawg says:

Perine has ran all over them and WVUs best defensive player Karl Joseph (who is literally the only person I have seen stonewall perine) is gone to the NFL.. WVU is a easy win with perine/mixon and our bigger stronger oline..

        • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Exactly. They have yet to stop Perine. I want Mixon and Perine to each surpass 1100 yards on the ground.

      • Scott says:

Only two teams that I think will give OU some problems and that’s Ohio state and TCU. I think OU blows out everyone this year , a lot of OU fans don’t know how motivated this team is.

    • Bob Edwards says:

So what I hear you saying is that our biggest threat this year is overconfidence.

      • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Basically. But with Mayfield leading the way, I like our chances of staying beyond focused. We got so close but yet still so far last year. This team is hungry Bob!

      • Birddawg says:

We will be favorite in every conf game,
DB2/Pass rush are the only question marks that could cost a game we shouldn’t lose

        • soonerthunder says:

TOs. Don’t forget TOs. That’s the #1 way to lose a game you shouldn’t.

          • J.r. Kamm says:

            Complacency!

          • soonerthunder says:

I don’t see complacency being a problem this year, but you could be right. I think with Houston and OSU early, and UT beat us last year, don’t see that, but we’ll see.

          • Stephen Dale says:

excellent thought but how do you get the team & staff to do it ? The players performed about like the Stoops Bros. performed in the RRS…Similar to 2013 and 2014 ( won the game due to UT turnovers )..the Sooners enter the Cotton Bowl as if in fear of their lives and play timid, mistake-prone ball….

        • soonerthunder says:

two of my biggest concerns as well, other than TOs in any game, but for the team, yes. think we are pretty good team if those two areas are okay.

    • soonerthunder says:

I think you’ve summed it up theoretically very quickly very well. It does seem that things change on these teams from year to year. I hear OU fans talking about a weakness all off season that doesn’t turn out to be a weakness at all when the season begins. Same could be true of these other teams too. I think Stoops is hard to beat two years in a row; that’s my #1 reason for beating UT this year. Will be hard for tcu to have a qb as good and as lucky at they’ve had. that guy was very good, and he was very lucky in a few key moments, too, imo. his skill had a lot to do with that, of course, but we’ll see. patterson’s Ds haven’t been as potent with the style of O he’s running, and I think the two go together. I think BU loses a lot of talent that would have helped them this year, starting and backing up playing a lot. That hurts a ton this season, and of course, down the road it’s like being on probation.

      • Boom says:

We will see just what type of leader you have with Russel in this type of situation. QB has to lead and he will have a tuff hill to climb IMO. With the type of athletes they recruited, I’m curious what’s going to happen if they lose some games early. Will the locker room be crazy or together.

    • John Garner says:

Good analysis. TCU definitely tough to beat. Patterson will have them coached up. Wouldn’t underestimate saxeT though. Their D stuffed us last season.

      • MoJoOkie says:

I agree, but I don’t think the young OL had really had the time to gel for that game. Should be better on the offensive front this year. SHOULD.

        • John Garner says:

Good point. We’ll definitely be better. Stronger for sure. And more athletic I think than last season. Bigger at Center too. That will certainly help scheme-wise. May not need as much help there.

  • hOUligan says:

Top o’ the mornin’ TFBs!! As the 4th approaches I’m feeling there are more ‘BOOMs’ in the near future than just fireworks.

  • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

My man crush on Mixon is horrible lol. This dude is swoll as hell. He’s not allowed to wear a dark visor like that is he? That thing looks too fresh ?

    • Matt says:

nope NCAA outlawed those after 2005. Adrian Peterson looked too intimidating with it during that season. To protect future opponents, they banned them.

    • Tmac says:

I wonder if Mixon will change his number to 28 now that it is available?

  • SamSooner says:

More reasons to like Briles. This report is suggesting that Briles used the victim as leverage to get more money from Baylor. After he got paid, he did not show up, as agreed, to apologize.

    http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:16373580

    • soonerthunder says:

he’s such a nice guy. raped baylor’s football team for years to come too

      • SamSooner says:

They have one recruit for 2017, five who’ve receive a release from 2016 NLI, and one more requesting a release. That’s worse than probation. This is going to hurt like hell, as you say, for years.

      • Boom says:

You keep talking about probation but I have yet to hear a peep out of the NCAA in regards to Baylor. Did I miss something?

    • cush creekmont says:

Sam, yeah, this came out a couple of weeks back – Briles and his lawyer agreed to meet with her BEFORE the secret meeting with BU where he got extra money to not align with her against BU.

The whole thing was horrible and extra-scummy even for a lawyer and a “Briles.”

    • jimintexas says:

This is the same guy that so many players and fans love. Maybe says as much about them as him?

    • Drew says:

The braniacs have any info here on where he’ll sign?

      • J.r. Kamm says:

If we’re the only visit he’ll make before his announcement, you’ve gotta’ like our chances.

    • J.r. Kamm says:

Any visits planned between now and then that you’re aware of, Jordan?

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

Not sure if a big deal or not but he @’ed Max Olson who is the UT guy.

      • KJ1123 says:

UT would be my guess right now.

        • Lincoln Hawk says:

I tend to agree, hopefully TFB will have something up soon. Brandon tweeted he had some info yesterday.

          • KJ1123 says:

That’s true, I assume we are getting 1 of those 3 he mentioned (I think it was 3). My feeling is, we didn’t have any of these guys as of a month ago, and we were moving forward as planned anyway. So not getting them now won’t change things. It would be more bragging rights imo.

          • David Luc says:

Adding a 4 1/2 – 5 * OL to the ’16 class would be a great get. But if I was limited to one of the three, I’d think Bowen would fill the most critical need.

          • KJ1123 says:

I agree I’d rather have Bowen at this point.

          • Boom says:

He’s been the guy I wanted from the get go. I remember the report of him from TFB visiting OU late in the recruiting process and I think we wanted him but had no room at the time.

          • KJ1123 says:

When are you headed to Portland Boom?

          • Boom says:

3rd as we are going a little early to catch some sites before it starts. Also, my son will be with the players as his QB coach has given him a pass. Should be fun like last year and meet a bunch of good parents. Also, watching all those studs in one place was like a kid in a candy store.

          • KJ1123 says:

Awesome, as you know they put on a great event. I was up there a couple of years back, really wish I could of gotten into the employee discount store though. But Nike is really head and shoulders above all other camps out there.

          • Boom says:

We went last year and my son still keeps up with half those QBs. They send him encouragement texts all the time. It’s cool. We went into the employee store and that was a mistake. 🙂

          • KJ1123 says:

Just gotta keep plugging away at it. Oh I bet it was.

          • Boom says:

Just got back from Manning camp where he had a blast. He watch Baker and said he had THE fastest drop of any of the QBs. Quick feet. Said Rosen was smooth and his drops matched the route timing to a T. Said, Watson didn’t have quick feet but had a strong arm.

          • KJ1123 says:

The year I was up in Portland was the year Rosen, Barnett, Kyler, Town, Stidham etc. were there. Rosen was easily the most impressive imo. Sounds like your son is getting in some good instruction, that’s awesome.

          • Boom says:

Been at it since 4th grade. Had training & QB training from Elite 11 staff the 6th grade. He loves it and works out with the HS QBs. I’m just an old dad who pays the bills. 😉

          • KJ1123 says:

Haha but it’s a fun ride so enjoy!

          • Boom says:

            yep

          • SamSooner says:

            Bowen?

          • J.r. Kamm says:

            He’s a DE.

          • SamSooner says:

            Oh, okay. Thanks, KJ!

            How goes it?
What’s your gut tell you about Hudson?

          • KJ1123 says:

Im thinking he’s going to Texsa Sam. Just because I think we’re pretty much full at OL for 2016. Swenson, Julius…etc.

          • KJ1123 says:

Im thinking he’s going to Texsa Sam. Just because I think we’re pretty much full at OL for 2016. Swenson, Julius…etc.

          • JR says:

Thing is Texas is full period. Hudson has said on several occasions that he knows he needs to redshirt and can then come in and compete year 2. I still think OU is the choice but we will see.

          • KJ1123 says:

            Brandon Bowen

      • Jordan Esco says:

IMO it’s more of a professional courtesy/’heads up’ type of deal that it is an indicator as to Hudson’s supposed choice.

      • Dustin says:

        Wasn’t Crabtree an OU guy?

    • AlvinMack55 says:

Hopefully he picks the good guys or Texas A&M. This way, if he picks TAMU, then that could potentially help w/ Creed Humphrey as they’re both interior OL. Of course I’m not opposed to landing both 😉

  • j l says:

Bailor is going to have kansas like numbers of scholarship players here pretty soon. We need to run the ball on them 70+ times and just completely gas them.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

OP seems to be getting later and later

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

Probably has something to do with the start of the Texas site, just a guess but the timeline makes sense.

    • Fear The Magic says:

I completely agree. I just don’t get why TFB can’t call up kids like Hudson and Cobb and tell them that they have a lot of overly eager customers and that we need a committment decision NOW. Seriously, what are we paying for here???

      • cush creekmont says:

Fear, you don’t realize how much the entertainment charges are for TFB. You know SD does not do that stuff for free – it takes effort to plan it. And R/R has to rehearse his material on paysites. Then thinkers like Bob Edwards don’t come cheap. All that inside info from KJ – you don’t think he does THAT for free?

Come on, Fear, this thing is expensive, pay up with a smile 🙂

      • Lane Gilstrap says:

I’m gonna ask for a discount the next time I renew.

  • Dustin says:

Awesome stuff with the kids eating candy for the first time. It was nice to see that they didn’t like it, for the most part. We significantly decreased our boy’s sugar intake a few months ago and the positive changes in him are monumental. It was tough at first, but now he doesn’t even ask for anything with sugar in it. Drinks tons of water and eats fruits and veggies. In turn, it’s inspired his mom and me to eat much better and we’re loving it.

    • Jed says:

My wife and I got on the ‘Ludwig Diet’ about four months ago. Kind of Atkins-y, but built for the long haul. Mostly elimination of high carb foods and stress on minimally processed proteins and fats. (I eat bacon and eggs and butter and almonds and meat and green veg without restriction. Just almost no potatoes or bread or pasta or sugar or alcohol.) both harder and easier than you’d think.
Here’s the upside: in that time, I’ve lost 25 lbs with no added exercise regime and my blood chemistry was so improved that my doctor ordered a second lipid panel. Finally was taken off BP meds. 4 inches off my waist as the claims of losing more ‘bad’ mass seem to be true. Little things like having to have my weddding ring resized to keep it from falling off have also been fun.
sugar and carbs in general are pretty much poison.

      • cush creekmont says:

Jed, I have lost weight “seasonally” with Atkins for years. The only problem seems to be that it may have contributed to my gallstones.

Good job on your program. Maybe you eat less fat than I and/or your system might be less prone to the problem.

        • Fear The Magic says:

I’ll trade you my kidney stones for your gallstones plus a stone to be named later.

          • Jed says:

I’ve never had gallstones, but kidney stones? Oh, yes.
Interestingly, moving back to OK seems to have helped. Previously, I’d had an incident every 12 months or so. Drinking good old OKC tap? no issues for five years. (less dissolved solids seems to be at the root of this result. Mineral water is probably not a good thing if you have stones.)

          • ouwooferman says:

They stone you when you are all alone, They stone you when you are sitting on the thrown…..

          • Fear The Magic says:

So now I have that song in my head….thanks

          • cush creekmont says:

Fear, ya’ got TWO kidney’s 🙂 – But if you make the to-be-named stone Lara Stone, you gotta’ deal.

          • Fear The Magic says:

I was thinking Sharon Stone but ok…Lara works too.

          • cush creekmont says:

Sharon Stone is OLD news – Lara is … well, she just IS.

        • Jed says:

I’d been dreading the blood work, thinking that lipids, in particular, would be very high. It hasn’t worked that way so far at least.
I do recommend Ludwig’s book. Won’t claim to explain the details, but in essence he looks at fat cells as ‘alive’ and not just ‘baggies’ to hold extra calories. Seen in that way, the effort is not so much to simply run a deficit but to regear your metabolism.

Oh, and short of finding eggs kind of boring these days, I have suffered from zero hunger or lack of energy. Have felt great.

      • Dustin says:

I’ve always been an advocate for the ‘Eat Better and Get Off Your Ass Diet’. Medical conditions aside, if people put good stuff in their bodies and get up off the couch, they’ll feel so much better.

        • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

When I was a trainer throughout college I would always give an example of a car and the type of gasoline you use. When I broke it down I’m a simple form the light bulb would click on for most ppl. One of the first steps I took when getting hired by my Dad was to get the entire staff enrolled at a gym and covered the cost of their memberships. Way cheaper than covering their Obama care and other costs associated with in healthy employees. The number of “sick” days have been completely eliminated for the most parts bc our staff is healthy and aware. We have also had 2 of our front desk ladies lose over 50lbs each. It’s wonderful having a happy and healthy staff.

          • Dustin says:

It’s amazing how simple it really is. My fat ass needs to trim down again. I’ve worked on the road for the past couple years. On the road you basically have two options: Eat crap or don’t eat. It’s tough on the gut and the butt.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

It really is easy, but I get why it’s not for everyone. Most, if not all of it is mental. More than half of us have addictive personalities and if they would just stick with something for 3 weeks they would be fine. It’s the stopping and starting every two weeks that kills ppl.
I’ve never had a job that made it hard on me Dustin, so I have no idea how it would be if I was in your shoes. I workout because my girl friend is a bottle girl at one of the night clubs and is required to have a banging body. Without her to motivate me I doubt I would go as often as I do. It’s also a snow ball effect; in the sense when you loose a few pounds how would that not motivate you to lose even more? I’m also in LOVE with fried foods and love my beer so I know I need to do X amount of exercise each week to keep my body at a certain body fat percentage lol.

          • Dustin says:

French fries, bacon and beer are my vices. I could see myself cutting out the fries, but the bacon and beer keep me sane.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I love beer as well. But unfortunately it’s liquid bread and stays on that waist line! I usually hold off on the beer until the weekend. If I’m craving a drink during the week ill usually stick with a scotch and water lol. The struggle is real Dustin.

          • Dustin says:

I cut out the hard stuff about 10 years ago. Too many shenanigans. I understand how hard it is not to party hearty out there. Nothing else really to do.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Yeah, luckily for me, Bella doesn’t like the club scene too much ( ironic since she works at a club) so we don’t really go “out” anymore. We go and hangout with friends and stuff sure, but partying hard is usually saved for when friends visit.

          • Dustin says:

I dealt blackjack and the last thing I wanted to do when I was off was go to a casino. I would occasionally wander into a poker room, but that was about it. I think I hit the strip twice while I lived there. And once was the first weekend after I moved there.

          • RBear says:

That’s why Sailor’s have a woman in every port

        • SamSooner says:

I’m with you. Eliminate the excess and eat in moderation. I’m always amazed at how quickly a person can develop a desire to eat fruit and vegetable and less fried food and sugar. I try to plan my meals when I’m traveling. I look at the menu before I go and make the healthiest choice, usually less calories, as possible. For instance, I almost always go for salmon and sauteed spinach or eat half of my meal.

          • Dustin says:

I cannot eat half a meal. My father wouldn’t let me leave the dinner table until my plate was cleaned and that has lived on inside of me like somewhat of a compulsion. If I can’t finish a meal, I get really upset. It really is a problem for me.

          • SamSooner says:

I fill you. I grew up very poor. A lot of days I only ate one time. Eating out is difficult enough without having to think of it as you’ve put it: we get such large portions at restaurants and then to feel the need to finish is a recipe for disaster.

          • SamSooner says:

            Corrected.

      • ZW_in_Austin says:

If only there was a such thing as protein beer.

That + frisbee + beef jerky snack or flank steak din-din make Jeddy happy and healthy.

Couldn’t agree more and couldn’t be happier for you. I’ve been doing the Zone Diet (40/30/30 ratio of carbs/protein/fat) with low fat protein, low glycemic carbohydrates and Omega 3 fatty acids from fish oil or olive oil. It too is a long term diet in the true sense of the word diet.

That’s why J goes missing every now and then, he’s working on his DJ career.

      DJ Jazzy Jordan?

What’s hilarious is the fact I LOVE future and rap music and every time I see Jordan’s name I immediately think of DJ Esco lmao.

    ESPN-

Over the next couple of weeks we will be making predictions for every Big 12 game this season. We kick off our predictions with Week 1:

Baylor 56, Northwestern State 13: The Bears try to put an offseason of uncertainty behind them with an easy win. Quarterbacks Seth Russell and Jarrett Stidham each throw a pair of touchdowns as Baylor cruises.

Stanford 34, Kansas State 17: Christian McCaffrey is simply too much for the Wildcats defense. The Heisman candidate finishes with over 200 yards and three touchdowns as the Cardinal cruise. Receiver Byron Pringle is the lone bright spot for the Wildcats with 121 yards and one touchdown in his K-State debut.

West Virginia 34, Missouri 31: Milan Puskar Stadium plays a major role as the Mountaineers get their season started with a quality win over the Tigers. Mountaineers running back Rushel Shell is the star of the show with 125 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Oklahoma 45, Houston 42: The Sooners barely survive against a Cougars squad that brings its “A” game in the season opener. A late Baker Mayfield touchdown scramble is followed by a interception by cornerback Jordan Thomas on Houston’s final possession to cement Oklahoma’s season-opening triumph. Mayfield’s play is the highlight for the Sooners, accounting for five touchdowns in the win.

Oklahoma State 63, Southeastern Louisiana 10: The Cowboys roll as quarterback Mason Rudolph and receiver James Washington connect for three touchdowns and running back Barry J. Sanders has a stunning debut with 130 rushing yards including a 75-yard gallop for a score.

Kansas 31, Rhode Island 21: The Jayhawks earn the first win of the David Beaty era after a pair of touchdowns from Texas A&M transfer LaQuvionte Gonzalez. Quarterback Ryan Willis has a solid start to his sophomore season with 343 passing yards, a pair of touchdown passes and no interceptions.

TCU 58, South Dakota State 7: The Horned Frogs defense is dominant, only allowing South Dakota State inside its 40-yard line after halftime. Three TCU takeaways in the first half help Gary Patterson’s team to a 30-point halftime advantage along with a pair of touchdown runs from running back Kyle Hicks.

Texas Tech 49, Stephen F. Austin 17: The Red Raiders offense struggles initially, going scoreless in the first quarter before a four-touchdown explosion in the second quarter. Junior quarterback Patrick Mahomes is terrific with three touchdown passes and a touchdown run to lead the way.

Iowa State 27, Northern Iowa 17: Early season matchups with FCS teams haven’t been the Cyclones’ forte in recent seasons, but new coach Matt Campbell — with the help of running back Mike Warren and receiver Allen Lazard — puts a stop to that trend. Warren and Lazard score the first two touchdowns of the contest as the Cyclones control the game throughout in a relatively easy win.

Notre Dame 30, Texas 21: The Irish leave Austin, Texas with a win but there are moments of hope for Longhorns fans. Quarterback Shane Buechele, who comes in off the bench, looks good but inexperienced with a long touchdown throw to fellow true freshman Collin Johnson to go along with a pair of interceptions, and the defense has a solid game, but four Longhorn turnovers are ultimately the deciding factor in Texas’ second-straight season-opening loss to Notre Dame.

    • Fear The Magic says:

Ok I just discounted all of these predictions based on the fact that they think Kansas can beat ANYBODY.

    • BoomCity89 says:

It’s going to be high scoring. OU has always struggled against mobile QB’s and we’ll be going up against one of the best in the country. But being in year 2 under this new offense, I would be shocked if we don’t score at least 30 points in each game this year.

      • SoonerfanTU says:

There are a lot of reasons to think Houston won’t score 42 on us. Nobody did last year. We can run the ball and control the clock. 1st games usually seem lower scoring…..in part b/c it takes teams time to get going, and in part b/c teams will probably come out vanilla.

I could see Houston getting 31-35, but I’d be pretty shocked if it were any higher than that.

        • soonerbred4ever says:

We come out vanilla against Houston, we very likely would lose. I guarantee Houston will throw everything they have at us.

    • SamSooner says:

Reads like poor fiction from an overly-active, idle, imagination. I’m not speaking to the OU/Houston game only, they are off base with a lot of these predictions.

    • Birddawg says:

I know Houston can score but no way 42 on us.. guess they are predicting for us to suck on D ..which is BS.
I have been bouncing around 38-45 to 21-28 Good guys..

    • RBear says:

      ” …an offseason of uncertainty behind them… ”

More like an off-season of certainty; we all know who they are and how they run things.

  • bommer85 says:

Hudson will end up at Texsa, but if we get Bowen that would be a nice pickup. Cobb has problem written all over him imo

  • Daryl says:

shorthorn Brainiacs making it sound like OU could come up short on Hudson and Creed Humphrey. If that happened it would really suck!

    • bommer85 says:

yup. i saw that, not surprised on hudson but possibility of creed to texsa was a surprising development.

    • Lane Gilstrap says:

I refuse to believe that Creed is that interested in Texas. It would suck losing him to A@M but if he goes to Texas then Kish needs to be fired lol

    • Scott says:

Number 1 center in the country released a top 8 yesterday and OU was in it. I’m never worried about the offensive line recruiting , Coach B is a DAWG and always gets the beef.

    • Mark_in_VA says:

That would make Mark a very sad boy. Losing an Okie who’s supposedly a Sooner fan to whorn will always sting, and not getting to at least split the OL pickin’s from the Baylor carcass with whorn stinks. That’ll be 3 excellent linemen for whorn where they should have had none.

    • Birddawg says:

Why would a Shawnee country boy chose the gaggies or Texsa over OU?

  • KJ1123 says:

With the Nike Opening coming up next week, I expect to hear alot of noise from SoonerSquad17.

    • Matt S. says:

He’s proven, at least. He’s put a couple dozen pitchers into the MLB. We will see if he has an immediate impact. That’s what it will take.
