Call me crazy, but is anyone else doubtful Texas can win 8? Look at their schedule and see if that’s even sort of a reality
I could see 8 wins. Not predicting it, but outside of OU and ND, they probably have more talent than anybody else they will play. Baylor should regress. Nobody knows how good TCU will or won’t be. Cal is beatable. They get WVU at home.
If UT gets anything out of the QB position, they will be a solid (top 25?) team.

They should have more talent than almost every team they play. Having said that, they are still unsettled at QB and their seniors will be playing for their fifth OC. The could win eight, but there is also a very real chance they limp into our game at 1-3. If that happens and they have our attention after last years loss, our game could get ugly. A blowout loss to us and Charlie could be gone mid season.
I think they will surprise everyone. Their D will be strong (no pun intended) and they have talent everywhere on O (but with a young QB).
They are recruiting talent like crazy. Strong is bringing them back. They’ll be tough in the coming years.
They have a 50/50 shot of beating us again, I think. Surely we won’t let that happen.

Buddy dropping to 6 was a steal for NOLA. Kinda like when AD dropped to 7 for the Vikings; still a good spot, but as we all know, it was still too late in the first round. Ready for another playoff run so we can have Baker, Jordan E, Jordan Thomas, Ahmad Thomas, Stephen Parker, Samaje, Mixon, Dede, Baxter, And Walker to all get drafted next year 🙂 that would be a pretty solid draft class. Certainly would look good for recruits. Or, all those guys except A Thomas could return and we can just go back to back, if y’all are ok with that!
Only reason he dropped is because he’s already 22 (?)… which isn’t old, but it’s about 3 years older than most kids at that spot.
Funny they look at it like that but he’s also ready to contribute immediately which not many can say.
I know the reasoning behind it, I’m just saying he’s a steal at 6. I’m just happy my lakers didn’t F anything up by selecting someone foolish. I also think the Thunder robbed the Magic in that trade. I know a lot of OKC fans who are upset but after I broke it down to them they came to the realization that they are now better off than before lol.
I have no idea how Presti pulls this stuff off. That was a straight up steal. Dipo is that 2 that the Thunder have been looking for since Harden left. And if Sabonis is anything like his dad, he’ll be really good.

Well even you need a break every now and again. With the Oil/ Natural Gas field being slow, it makes for slow days for me. But we finally got a PO this morning for a BSMS so things might be looking up. It has only been a year and a half since we got an order for one. Mostly been surviving on service work. You think kids who are already committed would start to think twice? Just curious. Another playoff run would be awesome, but that’s asking a lot.

Im a glass half full kind of guy as well but 9-3 is not at all far fetched. We will have a bunch of landmines to overcome this year. Other than the obvious Houston, tOSU, Texas. TCU away we also have games like WVA and Tech on the road. Not an easy road for us.
Not at this point. The kids understand that what their putting together in their class will be a championship contender group once their all in the field. I think it’ll be looked at as this is the result of not getting top recruiting classes. The kids get it. They know ranks don’t matter, but they do matter. Ppl can always improve, but at the same time you don’t get high ranking coming out high school without have some form of great talent.
I’m glad they understand that. Kids are usually all about the “now” and If we had a poor year on field, I could easily see that causing a couple to look elsewhere.

What’s the word around SS17 with Okudah? He’s pretty quiet on Twitter so it’s hard to get any kind of read on him.
Yesterday Okudah tweeted out some positive stuff about the Sooners, so I feel that they are in a surprisingly good spot with him. Not saying they are his leaders, but still have a decent shot. With how well these SS17 guys can recruit I wouldn’t be surprised if we reel in a couple 5-star players.
I would say tOSU has the edge but OU is a contender. You have to be happy at where we our with a guy like him. Basically were trying to steal him away from a school that just put like 9 or 12 players in league last year. That’s a pretty good Recruitment stat to sell a recruit on. So the fact were in the picture shows how much work the coaching staff has been putting in on him. A year ago his was probably 100% tOSU. Now it’s 50/50

Nice Sam! 4th weekend is my smoke-and-grill weekend – taking this weekend off and just being lazy. Some pulled pork sounds sooooooooo good though….
Take a break because the 4th will require total commitment. I’m going to inject this puppy up, put some dry-rub on them, throw’em in the smoker for about 8 hours.
The weekend of the 4th is all ribs, hotdogs for the unappreciative kids, of course.
Yeah, most kids don’t care much past burgers and dogs. Way, WAY back when I was a kid, my dad had one of the original Hasty Bake smoker-grills. I got spoiled with brisket, pork chops, chicken, smoked beans (in bbq and molasses sauce), even bologna smoked. Didn’t have much steak, but man were those summertime meals great!
Hasty Bake, love it, we had one – green.
I thought Hasty Bake was that toy oven with the light bulb. 🙂

If you’re in Tulsa or ever go there, try out Burnco BBQ. Best BBQ I’ve ever eaten and they use only Hasty Bake products.
I need to try them. I have read about Burn Company (and their use of Hasty Bake grills), but never made it to 17th and Boston. I will put that on my summer list of visits.
Cool part of town for sure. They’re only open for 4 hours at lunch and they’re sold out completely by the end of it. So get there early!
Don’t know anything about Hasty Bake, but back in the day I used to go to Wilson’s out around 1500 Apache in Tulsa. Still, by far, the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten. Sadly though, Mr. Wilson passed several years ago and so goes the BBQ. “You don’t need no teef, to eat our beef.” hung on the wall.
In my youth, Latimer’s at Pine and Greenwood was the best BBQ – killer, home made sauce. That was late 50s and 60s. I didn’t have much money to eat out, but once some of us could drive, we’d get something at Latimer’s.
I’ve heard of it, but never went. Mr. Wilson made his own sauce too and it won some newspaper contest. That’s how I originally found the place. Hot, but tasty.

Yea, he’s good. Got a trip this summer with a bud who loves music and we both have played in bands. He was a lead guitar & I was a drummer. I’m going from Houston to Dallas to get him, then we are driving the backroads (Louisiana/Miss/Bama) and have multiple stops at some chicken shacks to listen to some blues/honky tonk. Then we end up in Nashville. I’m sure beer and Uber will be involved. : )
Yeah, I’m in Western Kentucky about an hour and a half from Nashville. Go down there quite a bit. Sounds like a great trip.
