Just keep on a’rolling.

Dropping 2-of-3 to Kansas is certainly not ideal.

Shocker.

Oh damn.

Good morning, fellow Brainiacs!!! Here’s to a great week!

  • Mike Reed says:

    5!

  • BoomCity89 says:

Sooner! I drove through the U of H campus last week, man that place has grown up over the past few years. You can actually tell it’s a college campus, before it was just the hood with random people walking around. I cannot wait to be at the game on September 3rd! Much shorter trip to NRG Stadium for me rather than to Norman ha.

    • John Garner says:

I think Houston would fit nicely into a 12-team B12. I much prefer them to the Mormons. Of course, another saxeT school in the B12 would impact recruiting in that state.

      • Stephen Dale says:

nope. couldn’t disagree more….texas in general and Houston in particular will be that much harder to recruit in if Houston is admitted to this conference…there are already too many texas-based schools in the conference………

        • John Garner says:

I think I said that but not as clearly as you. I should have said that their style of play fits but, as you pointed out, another saxeT school would hurt us in that state.

  • Jeremy Phillips says:

Because the number of teams in each league varies.. This stat makes much more sense to use, instead of total drafted players..

    • Framoka says:

stole my thunder; Solomon’s point is stupid due to # of schools per conference.

      • Bob Edwards says:

Yeah the biggest lack of talent seems to be in people who are writing about the B12.

        • D Hunter Sanchez says:

EXACTLY. The freaking moron can spin stats anyway he wants to. How about a stat that shows the percentage of players drafted versus percentage that made teams!

          • Bob Edwards says:

There is a saying “a text without a context is a pretext.” A similar thing happens in statistics. When you reduce all the data to a single metric, a lot of information gets lost. Often it is relevant information.

        • Oscar says:

          Excellent observation!!

Can I flag this comment as excellent?

Jon Solomon has a personal crusade going against the Big 12

    • SoonerinLondon says:

      Yep.

Big XII ranks better, but still is pretty lame. We’re stuck in the muck with many average teams that have no football history and a lot of offenses that don’t translate to the NFL. Those offenses create defenses that don’t translate to the NFL either, all populated with players that don’t translate to the NFL (ala Striker).

    • Dick Bump says:

      Lies, damn lies, and statistics.

Imagine what the coaches at OU could do if they had more “talent”.

  • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Sterling Shepard will be a total steal for the Giants. That kid is special and I’m excited to have him represent OUr school. Eric Striker proved again why all of Sooner nation loves him. Hope everything works out for OUr boys. Boomer!

    • Slim Sooner says:

      Sooner!

    • BigJoeBrown says:

Really glad to see him go to The Giants, always feel bad for an athlete who get’s drafted by hopeless teams, and pretty much get thrown to the wolves and careers ended. Good for Tapper as well….as much as I like to talk trash about the Cowboys you know they are for the most part a competitive organization. Can you imagine if Bradford went 8th or 9th in the draft? His career would probably be going a lot better. And AD, he is a definite all-pro, but if the Viking’s had any kind of QB or receivers I actually think he would have done much better.

      • tfb_fortyseven says:

In reference to your first sentence: you mean like Sam Bradford to the miserable st. louis rams??

I’d rather him having gone to the Steelers but apparently receiver wasn’t a target till the 7th rd…..Pittsburgh’s loss……

Rivals has an article titled “Sooners set to host nation’s #1 player” with a picture of Wilson. Unfortunately it is behind a pay wall so I have no idea if this means something has actually been set up or if it is just more of what we heard on this site over a month ago saying that Wilson would come at SOME point…My question to yous guys is: does anyone know if something has been officially set up and if so, what the date is? Or is this just Rivals a month behind our favorite FREE site??

    NFL draft picks since 2012: SEC 259, ACC 176, Big Ten 173, Pac-12 163, Big 12 116. Big 12’s biggest issue isn’t title game, it’s talent.

Dang! Get out now, while we can!
