Texsa bites, Texsa bites, Texsa can bite my ass

  • Oscar says:

Word on the street is that Grandstaff has been kicked off the basketball team. I’m sure statement will come soon.

  • Dick Bump says:

Good for Cody Thomas! I’m glad to see him having some success.

    • Mike Reed says:

Casillas is a douche and should be banned from all things Sooner, like the Sooner Sports Network. His pompous arrogance is nauseating.

    • cdzendolet says:

Is he basically a ‘Hot Take’ guy now?

    • AltoidSooner says:

Poster boy for CTE…”Stupid is as Stupid does”

    • ⚡️Electric Sooner⚡️ says:

He has the “can’t help it’s ” every time he opens his mouth he can’t help but insert his foot in it! Ugg…

    • Jed says:

Methinks somebody really DID want that DLine job and is really sad, now.

    • Slim Sooner says:

I’m sickened that a former Sooner uses a media platform to speak negatively of OUr program and players. His DNA is screwed up.

    • Jordan Esco says:

All this guy has ever wanted is attention, whether it was 30 years ago or yesterday. all anyone is doing is giving him exactly what he wants.

Was a great player, has turned into a straight clown.

      • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Every since the Boz “outed” him in his book, he’s been a clown to me.

    • Dustin says:

T.C. is a joke. When was the last time he showed his face around Norman?

    • BigJoeBrown says:

I remember when he was on The Franchise in OKC radio. I was excited at first, I mean what OU fan wouldn’t be excited. A couple of things that stood out, he really struggled to talk or know about anything that wasn’t football related. And two, he’s kinda a perv…They would be talking about something and then he would randomly start talking about a girls boobs or calling some lady a hottie.

I was funny though, Robert Allen or someone called in and they were on their way to a some sports game. In the background you could hear some women/girls talking. Tony turns into perv mode and is more interested in who is in the car rather than the interview. After some sexual connotations, Robert Allen goes…”Tony that’s my daughter”. Tony started stuttering, tried to apologize and the rest of the interview was awkward. I think Todd Lizenbee took over the interview.

    • Dick Bump says:

Hell of a hit, in a hell of a game. OU dominated a team many thought was the best in the country. With hits like that it’s no wonder Tony Dorsett now has concussion issues.

      • AgedBill says:

I remember that hit very well! I was about 10 rows up. The thing that made that hit so good was that all we heard and read was how Dorset and Pitt were going to put on us. Lol!

        • Dick Bump says:

I was there, too. Great team. Selmons, little Joe. I looked up the stats…Dorsett had 17 yards in that game.

    • ⚡️Electric Sooner⚡️ says:

I remember another number 7 laying the wood on some people. Brandon Everage when we played Air Force was a one man wrecking ball!

    • Oscar says:

      I was there! I was like…..whoooooa

  • Mark_in_VA says:

I look at Mandel’s proposal and think how incredible to see all those games, but then consider OU having to face 11 top-25 teams, every year, before making the playoff. Holy. Crap. That would be brutal. I guess on the bright side, several losses don’t keep you out of the playoff.

    • Dick Bump says:

      Depth would really be important.

      • Mark_in_VA says:

Speaking of depth, it would be interesting to see the impact such a configuration would have on recruiting. I can’t decide if it would level it out or boost the desirability of teams close to home. I mean, you’re going to play against the best no matter which school you attend, so anything like the SEC draw would be diminished. But, since you play the best no matter what, being close to home might be more important for your family to get to see more games.

        • Dick Bump says:

Likely be a push to increase roster limits. They used to be higher, but were cut supposedly to save money for the schools. If I remember right, Darrel Royal was one of the main proponents for the cuts. UT needed to save money on scholarships, right.

        • jimintexas says:

Maybe to some extent. You still would see players wanting to go to where “they are putting people in the NFL”.

          • Mark_in_VA says:

True. Maybe coaching plays an even more important role. Coaches of teams with success on draft day might get a boost. That’s true today, to an extent, but players still want to maximize their exposure by playing in the best conference. Exposure for those 24 teams would be off the charts.

          • Jed says:

Maybe. Maybe players, families and the NFL would also consider the wear and tear from playing championship calibre games every week, however, and discount potential careers by 3-5 years for guys coming out of the top programs.
Combined with a rookie salary cap, it might make a NFL career a very risky proposition for top program guys…and less so for those who played for lesser schools but figured out how to get on the radar.
            Just thinking out loud.

    • jimintexas says:

That is a long season for student atheletes. But it is food for thought. It would be a political bloodbath. You would have states suing because their team on constant rise did not make the cut.

    • cush creekmont says:

A “super league” will happen. I doubt that Mandel’s 24-team fantasy can or would happen. It is “too profession” in appearance and leaves out too many teams. Four “super conferences” will happen (likely BEFORE the 2023 date). The playoff will expand to 8 then 16 teams (league, playoff winners & 4 chosen; expanded to 4 playoff winners, 4 playoff losers and 8 chosen). The “long season” for only the final four teams will be countered by some form of special academic classes for those few effected. The one thing Mandel has right is that the money will be huge.

      • Mark_in_VA says:

I’ve thought all along this is the ideal scenario:

        * 4 16-team conferences, split into 2 8-team regions.
        * Winner of each region faces off for CCG (round of 8). Conference winner automatic bid to playoff.
        * 4 team playoff just like now.

        • cush creekmont says:

The playoff WILL expand no matter how few begin. Some one-loss, exceptional team will not win its division and raise the cry for at-large teams. 4 conferences, yes – 64 teams is the question. The BI6 could make it beyond 16 in the near future. The PAC will need to have some teams “forced” their way for balance (My hope is texsa and its three little state of texsa children get shipped west withOUT OU)

For those who like “odd” and conspiracy, do the binge-watch of MR. ROBOT. If nothing else, it will make you sooooooooooo uncomfortable about your privacy that you might unplug.

  • Matt says:

I like Ian Boyd for the most part but he and I must be watching a different Ahmad Thomas. The best I’ve seen Thomas play was when they had him play deep in Cover 2 last year and he was able to ballhawk deep passes. I think he’s weakest when they try to put him in or near the box. How many missed tackles against physical runners did he have last year? It’s easy to look at his Height/Weight and think he’s a box safety but he’s really not IMO.

  • Matt S. says:

Good morning brain-people. Mandel’s version of contraction made my mind explode.

  • ALar03 says:

Although Westbrook has incredible athleticism you see once in a lifetime.. I see cousins as a poor man’s version of Westbrook, he could get better at attacking off the dribble but they are similar in styles and he has a Westbrookish fire on him!

  • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I listened to that Athlong sports pod cast and their comments on OU were just beyond moronic. They think replacing 3 guys on the offensive line is going to be devastating. Lucky for them it’s only two guys ?.

Off Subject, but who is loving this season of Game Of Thrones as much as I? I wasn’t a fan of last season. Just watched the latest episode while doing my cardio and man, oh man that ending scene wasn’t bad ?

    • cush creekmont says:

Can’t talk about it much because it will spoil it for the many who watch after the first showing. My wife was mad yesterday that she couldn’t talk to anyone at her work because none of them had seen it yet.

    • SamSooner says:

      Loving it.

FYI: there are some posters who don’t want to know what’s going on because they are waiting on the books to come out.

      • Drew says:

I might actually be the only one, but appreciate the silence Sam!

        • SamSooner says:

Welcome! Just looking out for you.

          • Drew says:

I will say though, if people want to post spoilers on here, I wouldn’t really care if you put some sort of spoiler tag on it. I have enough self control not to peak.

          • SamSooner says:

I know what you mean. There have been a couple of movies I didn’t want to see until I finished reading the book. There have been movies, once I saw them, that made me not want to read the book.

      • soonerjunky says:

They don’t want to know that the Red lady brought Jon Snow back? Or that he and Sansa are going to try and take Winterfell from Ramsay? Don’t tell them

      • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Noted. I would never have said anything that would “give away” valuable info knowing there’s always people either behind in the series or, like you said, waiting for the books. 🙂

        • SamSooner says:

Yeah. I don’t have that kind of discipline, always. I recently bought the novel by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowlings) featuring the private detective Cormoran Strike. I started reading it and quickly realized that there were two other novels that preceded it. I had to stop, find the other two, and read them in sequence. There is this thing about discovery that would have ruined the last novel had I not waited.

I’m reading a new series right now by Robert McCammon. Great author and I’ve read everything by him. But I had no idea he had released five new novels, featuring the same character, Matthew Corbett. His sixth novel to that series is due out May 31. I’m on novel two right now.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I’m not going to lie, I’m into reading novels the older I get. When I was younger I couldn’t put down a book. When I do pick up a good book it’s usually under the mystery genre. I start my days so early that by the time I crack open I’m passed out 4 pages in lol. That’s my excuse, for now 😉

Books always beat Movies/shows though, that’s one thing for certain.

          • SamSooner says:

Ha! Ha! I get it. I’m the same way. I have to carve out time during the day or the book is beating in the face if I try to read after a long day.

      • cush creekmont says:

When it comes to GOT, the series has already gone beyond the books. Whatever the show does, the last books may be totally different. In that respect, the hardcore book audience gets a “twofor” with the last 3 books and the series potentially being hugely different.

  • Matt says:

I kinda like the early start time at UH. Early start times tend to lessen the impact of the home crowd.

    • cush creekmont says:

Since it is a neutral site, I suspect the tickets are 50/50. Can someone who knows for sure weigh-in on this?

      • HoustonChiver says:

Last time I checked (months ago) the “UH” side was nearly sold out and the “OU” side was about 40% done, but I had the option to buy tickets on either side, they just advised which would be which

The Heisman 16 list is a joke without Samaje Perine. Fournette’s claim to fame is that he break tackles. So does Samaje. He also breaks NCAA records.
