RECOs (any other Boiler Room fans out there?)
I wanted to try something out here, and I’ll try to keep my explanation short to avoid boring you. As you may (or may not) have gathered by now, I spend an abnormal amount of time online. As such, I routinely come across things that I find interesting. I’m fortunate enough to spend the better part of my work day listening to things that interest me — podcasts, radio, webisodes, etc. — to help pass the time, and I figured this might be a good place to share some of those with all of you.
Now, of course, some of the things I find interesting probably won’t interest some of you in the slightest. And that’s cool. Just keep on scrolling like I’d suspect you do on any number of the things typically included above.
These also won’t be included here every day (or ever again if the majority of you wind up telling me you hate this) maybe just on Fridays, assuming there was anything worthwhile. Maybe they could just as easily go under the ‘OTHER’ heading and doesn’t need a separate subset of its own. Or if it’s simply a feature you don’t feel adds value, please don’t hesitate to let me know. You won’t hurt my feelings I can assure you π
* I know there are some very strong opinions on the ol’ interwebs when it comes to Simmons, but personally I’ve always been a fan (and that’s while really not liking the NBA or any Boston sports teams). Simmons aside, though, I found this to be a fascinating conversation between two people much smarter myself and with WAY more money than (sadly) I’ll probably ever have.
* Those of you old enough will probably remember Schirripa from Sopranos, which is discussed plenty during the conversation. But he also had some really great stories from his time working in Vegas before becoming an actor.
* Not sure I could explain to you the reasons why, but the inner-workings of the sports media business have always kind of fascinated me. And his conversation on that very topic with two of the most connected guys who cover it was really interesting (plus I love how much Deitsch hates Skip Bayless, something we have in common).

Really? DGB/Mixon, Big Red Sports & Imports. We had a basketball coach fired for delivering money to players. Better than most?

Too bad the cheating Bama coach left Texsa, where they never cheat, and went back to Bama where they do. His career will surely take a hit.
Wal Mart and OSU sound like a suitable match. Top quality does not come to mind.
