    Boomer!!

  • J.r. Kamm says:

    Boomer!!!

  • CW says:

    BOOMER

  • ALar03 says:

Okay didn’t say anything on the post yesterday but it’s frustrating seeing a kid that has the skill set the OC said he wanted in receivers, leaving the program… I thought he was gonna be real special here guess he just couldn’t get his hands on it smh

  • Birddawg says:

Game of thrones is going to so awesome.
Things are going to move very damn fast.

    • Drew says:

I’m waiting for the book, no spoilers!

      • Birddawg says:

I’m going forward with watching the show. I’m not waiting on the book.. its going to be another year at least for Winter Winds and 6-7 for dream of spring.
        I cant wait that long.

      • rainydaze114 says:

You’ll be waiting for a long, long time then.

        • Drew says:

I’m fully aware. But after they screwed last season up so badly (IMO, all nuance and subtlety were lost, and that’s what I loved so much about Martin’s writing), that’s just what I have to do.

  • Heard on the radio this morning that OU offered 2019 QB Spencer Rattler out of Phoenix last night. OU doesn’t offer a lot of folks after their freshmen year. Kid must be impressive.

  • 47 Straight OU Know says:

“It is another great day to be a SOONER” That is all, carry on!!!!

  • metzker says:

    White people stuff,what an idiot.

  • ⚡️Electric Sooner⚡️ says:

The whole Sam and Philly stuff has me a little perplexed. What I do know is Sam has one Hell of an agent! Smile Sam your cup runneth over.

    • Soonerbred says:

I do think he is in play to be traded to Denver, which would be an upgrade for him.

      • ⚡️Electric Sooner⚡️ says:

        I think Denver would work!

        • Birddawg says:

Any decent QB would work in Denver..
Mr Butt fumble and the unsigned drunkard would cost them to many games.
Trading for Bradford would be ideal for broncos.

      • Lane Gilstrap says:

It would be a win/win if he went to Denver

      • Birddawg says:

ah hell no, ELWAY!! I will hate Elway so much for making me hate Bradford!(chiefs fan)
Damnit to hell that’s a good move tho

      • Clay Davis says:

He needs to just stick in one place with one offensive coordinator for a few years. What could have been in St. Louis if only Pat Shurmur would have stayed on for awhile as OC there, and Sam had stayed injury free his second (and third) season.

        • Soonerbred says:

Totally agree. I don’t think he’s played in the same offense for two consecutive years.

      • cush creekmont says:

His salary is too high for Denver to take this year. Only if he’ll take a redo contract could he play there this season. Next year, Philly will cut him, so he’ll have choices if he plays well this season. If he does not, he can build a mansion next to Bob and watch OU while he lives off of his dividends.

    • metzker says:

Sam needs a great year no injuries and scoot on to a team that wants him!

    • Clay Davis says:

I would be pissed if I were Sam as well. They traded away picks that could help in the next couple of years to probably get a QB that probably stays a backup for the foreseeable future.

  • Jim Casy says:

Hopefully Charlie will succumb to the fan pressure and play this Simms kid way too early.

  • SoonerMagic76 says:

I thoroughly enjoyed David Ubben’s article on the Texsa QB situation. It was a pleasant reminder of how horrible things have been down there and how little hope Texsa fans currently have. Makes me feel all warm and cozy inside.

    • metzker says:

It is 8:14 and texsa sucks ya know.

    • Tex'ish says:

76 – thanks for the post, and prompting me to read Ubben’s article. Agree totally – good read depicting the desperation in Austin country. That offense be hurtin…

    • Framoka says:

Why in the hell have lost to them them 2 of 3? That’s the most aggravating thing if you really hate Texas; those suckers should really be even lower. But we haven’t shown up since the game Millard singlehandedly destroyed them by leaping over and running over multiple Texas DBs. Still have one of the pics from that game…awesome.

      • SoonerMagic76 says:

That game is one of my favorites. Went to it, along with the last 3. That 2012 one was epic, but I agree – we have been complete no-shows since that game.

The fact that we won one of them and were close in another is just a testament to how awful they were even when we didn’t show up.

It’s crazy though. As Sooner players, that should be the easiest game to get pumped up for, no matter how bad you are.

It’s frustrating to know that, had we shown up even a little in 2013 and 2015, we’d currently be on a 6 game win streak in the series (which would tie our longest ever in the series).

      • Birddawg says:

As much as I hate them.. and I don’t think they are going to do particularly well next year.
They still have talented players. Especially on defense.
With this new uptempo Baylor scheme they have on O with those guys on D..
They will be a tough team to beat.

        • Stephen Dale says:

Texas will consider the season successful if it beat OU-regardless of which other teams it beats….OU hasn’t matched Texas’s intensity in the RRS in years…….

          • Birddawg says:

OU hasn’t covered the spread in last 4 meetings in RRS.. for a vegas prespective.

  • LottsSocks says:

John Humphrey is a truly great kid. My guess is it probably has something to do with desire to be more involved in track and field.

    — Carey Murdock (@CareyWWLS) April 20, 2016

    • Lane Gilstrap says:

Do we not have a track team that he could be on?

      • Will Narramore says:

As a current collegiate track and field athlete I can tell you that Oklahoma has a solid track and field team. They have a 100 runner who is top 40 in the NCAA so far this season (10.35) which I would assume would be John Humphrey’s event.

        • Lane Gilstrap says:

Seems to me then that the issue doesn’t have to do with track. He must not be able to deal with not being the best at his position.

    • ⚡️Electric Sooner⚡️ says:

I think being buried in the depth chart and seeing the WR in the 17 class made him think it’s time to move on.

  • SamSooner says:

    Morning, all!

    • metzker says:

      Mornin,Sam

      • SamSooner says:

Well, the spring game is another milestone. The pointless magazines should be flooding the news stands soon, another milestone. Somewhere in there I’ll start taking vacations, another milestone. Then, BC will start his 100 days to the first game countdown. We are creeping up on the season.

        • SoonerMagic76 says:

          Slow and steady

        • metzker says:

          AAAAAAANNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDD,When the season
          starts im off probation correct?

          • SamSooner says:

Dude, I don’t suspect my wife would ever forgive me for having an affair. A fake OP announcement, that was worse than infidelity.

          • cush creekmont says:

Metz, Sam is over-prosecuting your case. If you behave through fall camp, I think you’ve done your time.
You may need a “good word” from Bob Edwards that you’ve stayed out of his liquor, but even Roger Goodell would give you a break if you have a clean summer.

          • metzker says:

            Lmao, thanks , Cush

        • cush creekmont says:

Summer – great times before “The Season.” Beer and BBQ; golf, lake, trips, beer, July 4th, get-togethers, swimming, beer.

    • DR LEO MARVIN says:

      Morning Sam!

      • Jim Casy says:

this is certainly interesting. Which coaches have been down in FL this week?

        • Lincoln Hawk says:

Not sure, not even sure if he has an offer but I would think Mr. Sermon better jump on his offer before the spot gets filled by somebody else like this young man.

          • Jim Casy says:

hell yeah. i just skimmed through the tape real quick because I’m not familar with Mr. AJD …. dude, has an extra gear for sure.
I’ve seen one place list him as 170 and another at 190. Not as big as Sermon either way, but I like the way he runs….a bit like Dobbins.

          • Scott says:

OU is taking 2 RB’S. AJ Davis has a offer and a star RB also is teammates with 5 star WR James Robinson.

          • Lincoln Hawk says:

Thanks for the info. Are we taking two high school guys or does the JUCO commit count as part of the two?

          • Scott says:

I believe OU is taking two H.S. guys. I’ve been told the JUCO kid will be used everywhere( RB , WR , PR , KR ). Similar to how Urban Meyer used Percy Harvin.

        • Lincoln Hawk says:

From yesterdays O.P., it may be Boulware who was referenced:

Florida: Interesting thing is the Sooners are apparently sending multiple coaches into Florida this year, with the intention of continuing to build their brand within the talent rich state. We’ve confirmed at least two OU coaches were in Florida this week seeing a few kids, but mostly just meeting with coaches and spreading the OU brand down south.

      • hOUligan says:

These ARE interesting tweets. The last time we got the ‘eyes’ emoji we got a BOOM within about 48 hours. Watching. Oh…and good morning all my Boomer Sooner brethren.

  • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

“Trips right. It’s Perine in the backfield. There’s the snap. Mayfield drops back. He’s looking right. Looking. Steps in the pocket. Heaves it. Holy Mother of Mercy, what a catch by Mark Andrews! He’s at the 40, the 35, the 30. They ain’t gonna catch him. Touchdown, Mark Andrews! Touchdown, Boomer Sooner!”

Good dang morning, my Sooner brethren.

    • J.r. Kamm says:

      Good morning, Rob!!

    • Scott says:

      OU 63 Texsa 0

      • Stephen Dale says:

after the meltdown losses to the Horns in 2013 & 2015 , i’d settle for a 1 pt OU win this fall…..

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

Good to hear your voice Rob/Rob, it’s been a while.

      • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

For real. I need to make it a point more often to say howdy-hey to my Sooner dudes.

And to share the silly nonsense. For my sake. 🙂

    • metzker says:

Thought that was going to be about sarahs aunt!

      • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

Sarah’s Aunt? Is that a Hallmark movie I’ve missed???

        • metzker says:

No Sarahs aunt that makes 84 dollars an hour from home!

          • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

    • SamSooner says:

      Morning, RR!
      Where have you been?

      • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

Good, man. Busy. How’s that boy of yours? He on his way to the Olympics yet?

    • DrewChubbs says:

For whatever it’s worth, I read this in Bob Barry Sr’s voice, and shouted, “Oklahoma” after the touchdown instead of, “Boomer Sooner.”

      I’m feeling nostalgic today.

    • cush creekmont says:

RR – I hope this is the first play of either the Houston or tOSU game (or both). Several of us have been working too much to do our TFB diligence, so we’re happy to see all the folks and hope to get here a little more often.

  • SoonerinLondon says:

    IMO, Shep’s pretty good.

    • SquidGiant says:

But he’s not 6’2″ or taller, that’s what being a receiver is all about…

      • Daryl says:

Unless you are Antonio Brown, Wes Welker, Julian Edleman, or Emmanuel Sanders

        • SooperDave says:

Emmanuel Sanders, Steve Smith Sr., T.Y. Hilton, DeSean Jackson, Randall Cobb. Golden Tate, Odell Beckham Jr. are all pretty good too.

        • SquidGiant says:

Did you miss the sarcasm? I thought it was a given to anyone who’s watched football and is not trying to pretend like they know everything about around 400 athletes. Thanks, for pointing out the obvious though. Those same fools that put so much stock in to Shepard’s height and weight are apparently missing his combine performance on the bench press.

          • Daryl says:

Sorry I was trying to add to your sarcasm. It’s amazing to me that they always crack on Sheps height but don’t even acknowledge the best in game right now are under 6ft tall.

  • hOUligan says:

Waiting for some new Oline offers. Line is looking good for the next couple of years. Add Valentine and Swenson in the fall. And have Walker ’18 and leading for Curtis Dunlap. Need to fill in the gap.

    • metzker says:

In my world they say the bowl structure is complete!

    • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

This whole time I thought tOsu was our first home game next season (only game in going to) so I’ve been telling ppl I’ll be there when we open the new stadium ?. Oh well, it will still be awesome. That score board is going to look money!!!!

    • SoonerMagic76 says:

      Beautiful

    • cush creekmont says:

I hope they put together an OU history show for that first game. It would be nice to have a start to the new-look stadium with an homage to the NC teams and the great players and coaches of yesteryear. Joe C. needs to get that media center to produce something – they already have all the OU history shows they produced.

The next week they could show a five minute re-cap and have the Sooner faithful screaming before the kickoff against tOSU.

      • Bob Edwards says:

There is always the “Grand Opening” which doesn’t necessarily correspond to the open for business time. Do a Grand Opening and dedication with the stuff you mentioned for tOSU.

        • cush creekmont says:

Fine with me. I just hope they do a serious “nod to the past.” OU has soooooooooooooo much tradition that a “new” stadium needs to remember what transpired in the “old one.”

  • BleedCrimson says:

135 DTG. The agony of off season cranked up to full blast!

  • JrsySooner says:

Sam can’t be that mad just signed a 36 million dollar deal 26 million guaranteed

  • j l says:

Man if we landed sermon and davis…whoo boy.

    • KJ1123 says:

I think if Strike doesn’t get in the first 3 maybe 4 rounds, I would wait on a FA contract. Give it a couple years to really prove himself and land a big FA contract.

      • Bob Edwards says:

Sometimes being drafted as high as possible is not always the best long term. It usually means more money for the first contract but doesn’t always turn out in the long run. You have to wonder how much better off Sam would be now if he been drafted by a decent team. The team with the number one pick usually gets that pick for a reason. They are really really bad.

        • KJ1123 says:

Exactly, plus some rookie FA contracts can be worth 3 round money, maybe even 2nd. The only thing the player doesn’t get is a big signing bonus. But the FA contracts are shorter and there’s more room for negotiation I believe, plus you can pick and choose where to go. Getting drafted not so much.

  • metzker says:

Wow,i think im going to start using my freedom of choice and elect to use the womens
