    BOOMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SamSooner says:

So, when will Art Briles get sacked? What are the Vegas odds?

  • roygbell says:

Art Briles and Baylor need to be censored by the conference and NCAA over this string of incidents where these type charges were simply ignored. It is clear the intent was to keep athletes on the team. What is the difference between this and academic fraud or violating recruiting rules?

    Answer: Nothing.

    • Bob Edwards says:

Shouldn’t the NCAA being doing the same to Baylor they did to Penn State?

      • DR LEO MARVIN says:

Same thing Penn State is a traditional football team. Baylor will never be held to the same standards as a team like Penn State.

    • DR LEO MARVIN says:

Baylor still isn’t held to the same standards that OU or other blue blood programs are. Look at the Charlie Strong story and how fast it took off. Or look at our Joe Mixon story for example. Joe hit a woman and we were the worst program in the world for letting him play the following year in the eyes of the media. Now Baylor for instance, has ton’s of rape cases popping up all over the place. Point being if this was OU or Texsa this would have been handled right away and either school would have a huge black eye for a long time.

      • Sooner Ray says:

        Yep.

      • SoonerOracle737 says:

I agree, but given enough time this story will grow some legs. Patience.

        • DR LEO MARVIN says:

I hope it doe’s something is wrong in a program when you have that many rape cases coming up. It was not a one time one player thing.

          • Bob Edwards says:

If this were NCAA rules we were talking about, it would be the dreaded “lack of institutional control.”

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

True. But this is worse, especially in the legal justice system but also in the eye of public opinion.

          • SamSooner says:

Take a look at the players he’s bringing in and allowing to transfer to his program. He has no care for anything but winning.

Do you remember the LB from Miami, Sims? How OU was after him and suddenly backed away. After he signed with Miami, his criminal past surfaced. He didn’t last at Miami and I believed he transferred to FSU. He didn’t last there either.

OU has, for a long time, been doing its due diligence.

        • metzker says:

          Patience,like our scrimmage notes!!

        • SamSooner says:

But what is taking Baylor so long to do something with Briles. He has to be held accountable. I mean, just look at the situation with his coach at the Tulsa game. That, to me, says the mans doesn’t care how he gets the job done.

I reported to a Director once who found a mistake in an Excel spreadsheet I sent to him. He told me this, I’ve never forgotten it, if there’s one mistake, there are probably others.

If they looked into Briles’ program, they’re going to find other irregularities.

It would seem to me that Bowlsby has enough to have his own inquiry, seek to revoke Baylor’s membership in the conference.

          • MoJoOkie says:

Words on your tombstone; “Here lies a mistake maker.”

          • SamSooner says:

            I tried. Really, I did.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

Media exposure will form public opinion which will apply pressure to Baylor Admin to do something. If enough pressure builds, the people who are blocking this will eventually cave and may get run out of town to save face for the institution.

          • SamSooner says:

It will fold like a cheap tent.

        • SoonerinLondon says:

I’m not sure I agree. I don’t think Baylor is a big enough school for the country’s media to pay attention. They certainly haven’t so far and this is what…the 3rd sexual assault that’s been reported the last 12 months?

          • SamSooner says:

Go back farther in the not too distant past: what about the Baylor basketball improprieties? That’s some strange, recent history.

          • SoonerinLondon says:

Former Sooner Dave Bliss did them no favors, that’s for sure. I was in undergrad when he was at OU and the few times I was around him he was a total jerk. I will say the McAlester and Stotts were great guys and great players, though. Terry Stotts was unbelievably nice.

          • SamSooner says:

I’m afraid Baylor has a pattern.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

I think outside groups that are dedicated to pressing this issue on college campuses are going to make the difference. Unlike the fake Duke rape case, these are real (or seem to be). I’m sure some national group that gets media attention no matter where they go will pick up the story. When national media gets ahold of it – watch out. It will go up in flames. But this all hinges upon national media (non-sports media) and not local.

      • SoonerinLondon says:

        BU = Rape U.

    • SamSooner says:

They need to get booted out of the conference, start the ground work for dissolving the Big XII.

    • Dick Bump says:

Especially awkward for a church school, to say the least. Maybe they’ve been waiting for devine intervention. There’s nothing devine about the NCAA.

    • BleedCrimson says:

There is little comparison. This is 1000x worse. Wrecking a girls emotional state compared to cheating on a grade does not compare.
BU should be hit hard with the toughest restrictions allowed.

      • SamSooner says:

Where’s the NCAA? They haven’t announced there’s a formal investigation.
The safety and well-being of students is well within their right to act.

Where are the Title IX people? It’s clear there have been violations.

      • DR LEO MARVIN says:

        Death penalty.

    • jdub says:

I dislike Briles & think he’s running a dirty program as much as anyone. You can fault Briles for recruiting these kids & for ignoring troubled backgrounds, but IMO this is MUCH bigger than him & the football team. Now, if you could prove that Briles knew of these incidents, or some kind of collusion to cover them up, then he gone.
This is the whole administration – gross negligence at best; systemic corruption at worst. Everyone who was employed in the athletic administration at the time of these events & who is still there now should all be fired, and then proceed up the chain of command from there. I don’t understand how Baylor didn’t even HAVE a Title IX department until after the Sam U publicity last year. Hasn’t that been a federal law for years? This may ultimately land at the feet of Ken Starr, and it may cost him his job – it just depends if all the heads that have to roll before his are enough to save him.

      • Oscar says:

The slime of Baylor goes all the way back to the formation of the Big 12, when some underhanded State Legislator/Baylor Alum blocked Houston’s bid to get into the conference instead of Baylor. At that time Baylor was, across the board, weak, and Houston looked to be the better selection for conference affiliation. Then, once in the conference, the school’s admins and coaches were obviously told, “do ANYTHING to win and justify our selection as a conference member.

Good morning, Brianiacs!!! Gonna’ be a great day!

  • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Well, well, well. As most of you here already know “It is truly another great day to be a SOONER” The sun is shining and the birds are chirping. I mean really what more can you ask for? OH yeah, where are the scrimmage notes? Me and Metz have been searching high and low and still no where to be found. What in the sam hill tarnation is going on? And one last thing, Metz is the Dr. really your son?

    • SamSooner says:

      You’ve looked everywhere?
      Did you check Metz’s person?
You know he has the propensity for deceit.
He probably has the notes and you are secretly being video taped.
I hope you haven’t embarrassed yourself.

      Words of advice:
Never trust Metz’s word regarding information, fictitious or otherwise, for this site.
Never, ever, ever, get involved in joint venture with Metz. His image has been tainted. (There’s guilt by association, you know?)

      • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Mornin, Sam. Guilt by association is a daily occurrence with some of the folks I associate with. True story. But hey when you are born into it, what can you do?

      • Rick says:

Hey Sam, since when is it a “bad thing” to be guilty by association with a fellow TFBer, (even if it is Metz)? JUST SAYIN 🙂 I’m guilty!

      • metzker says:

Well im your go to guy in the family to blame,i get it now!

        • SamSooner says:

          What?
I have no idea what you’re talking about. LOL!

And then suddenly, a light turns on. Can you imagine how difficult it is to look away from the only light there is in all of that darkness.

My attention goes right to that right eye, just bobbling.

    • MoJoOkie says:

We live in a more civilized time, and we’re all too spoiled by TFB… and want to avoid doing work by reading about football.

  • Jeff says:

Big 12 needs to kick Baylor out!

  • Rick says:

What?!? No one investegating Briles for obstruction?

  • Bob Edwards says:

So what’s the over/under on number of weeks the new Twitter rules are in place before the NCAA rescinds them?

    • Bob Edwards says:

Just so we understand how stupid this rule is. We get one of our currently committed recruits to send “Bob Stoops want’s you at OU” to a recruit. Bob then retweets it. With the help of one of your recruits, you can tweet anything you want to a recruit and it’s legal because all you did was “retweet” it. Someone should have run that rule past a fifteen year old before they passed it.

      • SamSooner says:

Sad to say this is highly reflective of our legal system: pass the rules that encourage cheating and stop the things that help kids get noticed, like stop satellite camps.

  • SoonerMagic76 says:

Love seeing the award for Striker – there are few players I’ve enjoyed having on the team more. Great guy, I’d love to have him on the coaching staff after the NFL.

  • BigJoeBrown says:

Baylor….scums. No one does anything for years, everything just get’s swept under the rug. Waco, where the inmates run the asylum. You know on Necessary Roughness the state of the team before Coach Ed Gennero took over…that is what I imagine is going on in Baylor.

    • Oscar says:

They should be thoroughly pounded down by the press and the NCAA, and a few lawsuits. Let’s enjoy the implosion.

  • UGA Sooner says:

Any LA Rams fans here? Just heard about the trade for the 1st overall pick and I’m not pleased at all with the trade. Titans receive 1st, 2nd, 2nd and 3rd rounders for 2016 and a 1st and 3rd for 2017. Rams get 1st overall, 4th round and 6th round for 2016. Not sure if there are any other Rams fans on this board, but it’s worth a try.

    • Framoka says:

Not a Rams fan but have to assume they think Wentz is the next Big Ben. Could be, I just read a detailed piece on him yesterday, he’s impressive as a person and athlete. If they’re right the trade makes sense. Titan’s CLEANED UP for sure.

      • UGA Sooner says:

As a rams fan, I certainly hope Wentz is. Don’t know much about him, but I was not blown away by any quarterback that is going to the draft in the FBS. Some first rounders, for sure, but none 1st overall worthy, IMO. I just feel like the rams are slowly slipping to the Browns level

        • Framoka says:

I like Les Snead more so than FIsher…what’s he done as the Rams coach? But, they have a tremendous d-line and drafting Gurley was a great example of good scouting. Its definitely a crap shoot taking a FBS QB #1 IMO. I think Goff is better right now and its not close…but Wentz has tremendous upside and they won’t have to rush him. Also, he’s extremely mature and a gym rat type. You have to like the Rams’ moxy making this move…they must be convinced. Again, with no clear #1 pick, this was fantastic for the Titans. They’ll get their OT (or best on their board) at #15 and still have 3 more picks in the first 76 I think. Only time will tell if its a good trade for the Rams, its a fact for the Titans.

          • UGA Sooner says:

I agree with you on the Fisher and Snead comment. I don’t think he should be a head coach. He was fine with the Titans if my memory is correct, but he’s hovered around 6-8 wins with the Rams. The defensive line is phenomenal, and I still have hope for Tavon Austin, but it seems to me that for every gem that Snead and Fisher get on the defensive side, it’s a mediocre or a bust for a player on the offensive side. However, as Lincoln Hawk stated previously, Demarco Murray just got some good news with that one. Although he didn’t play a down for OU, so did DGB

      • Birddawg says:

When their isn’t a clear cut and dry #1 QB for the draft. There isn’t a pick worth taking in the first round.
Build all the other positions and draft a qb every year late in draft until you find one serviceable. Unless you have 1-2 pick and there is THE guy. otherwise its a wasted pick and you’re restarting in three years.
I don’t think any of these QBs are the next Big ben, brady, rogers.
Maybe serviceable.. late picks but I wouldn’t take any of them top 15.
Either draft late and have an awesome D ( seahawks)
Free agent lottery and have an awesome D ( broncos)
Draft/stash with a legend and have an awesome D (packers)
Be so stupid lucky and have an awesome D (patriots)

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

Good news for Demarco Murray though.

      • UGA Sooner says:

I forgot to look at it through my crimson colored glasses. well said. I guess the trade is now acceptable

    • Stephen says:

I’d take that trade if I were the Titans

      • UGA Sooner says:

No doubt about that. They hit the jack pot with that one. Reminds me of the trade the redskins made with the rams for RG3.

      • Boom says:

I’m a so so pro fan but without a doubt the Titans just hit a jackpot. They have the QB so a 1st, 2 2nd rounders & a 3rd rounder will really help him.

        • Stephen says:

Offensively they seem to lack a star-wide receiver, plenty of guys with potential in this draft even past the 1st round. Not sure what they need on defense.

    • Malicong says:

That is a lot of give up and they have so many holes. It sounds like Wentz has distanced himself from Lynch and Goff and they were worried Cleveland would take him. It is a huge gamble ala New Orleans and Reggie Bush but it may pay off. I personally think it is a huge mistake. If it were Payton Manning or Andrew Luck it would be different but to sacrifice 6 draft slots where contributing players are regularly picked for a far from obvious #1 is either lazy, short sighted, or completely brilliant. Only time will tell.

      • UGA Sooner says:

Ah, father time. My immortal enemy.

I just can’t help, but be extremely disappointed. I hope it all works out, but I’d love my pro team to have the same success as Oklahoma has had. OU football has definitely spoiled me

    • Defend Colfax says:

That was a horrible but very Hollywood move they just made so good luck with that.

    • OohRah Mama says:

Oh, hells naw. **** the Rams. See my post above.

      Again: #v<% the Rams.

      • UGA Sooner says:

The way they handled the move was terrible. I agree with you on that. Stan Kroenke is scum, IMO

  • Malicong says:

Good for Tubby Smith. He was never going to win much at Taco Tech. Memphis is a much better job and much better program.

    • Walter Sobcek says:

And could be a member of the BIg 12 in a few years.

    • Soonerfandave84 says:

Wonder if Tech fans are upset their school is a stepping stone job for AAC schools

    • Oscar says:

So, getting to the tournament his second year with a young team and a full head of steam is not optimism enough that he would be winning consistently? Given his track record, they would have been winning more than not.

      • Malicong says:

He was doing a great job at Tech, but it’s not about just getting to the tournament. Tubby is a good enough coach to take virtually any P5 team to the tourney. At Tech he was never going to win the conference, never going to be more than a mid to low seed in the NCAA’s, and wasn’t going to lure big time recruits to Lubbock. Memphis has the potential to be a consistant top 20 team, compete for the conference championship every year, and bring in some top 100 players.

If the Steelers had been willing to part with old Ben Roethlesberger , the Steelers rather than the titans might be smiling…..this trade is as lopsided as the Dallas – Minnesota trade many years ago……….

      • OohRah Mama says:

Serves ’em right. They never gave Sammy consistent receivers or protection, then bashed his worth every chance they got. They slithered back to El Ay, badmouthing the city & people of St. Louis and left us an empty stadium for which we still have to pay.

**** the Rams. I hope they crash and burn.

Mornin’ TFBers!! and BOOMER!! Pretty cool Striker receives the Sullivant Award for his role in brining people together after the SAE thing. People keep talking about ‘replacing Striker’s speed off the edge’. He ran a 4.8 at the combine so don’t think that is going to be nearly as much of a problem as replacing his presence in the locker room and leadership on the team.

    • metzker says:

      Mornin,agreed,and SOONER!!!!!!!!!!

    • MoJoOkie says:

He was/is tenacious, can’t catch that on a clock. And SOONER!

    • rainydaze114 says:

It wasn’t about his straight line speed… his burst off the snap was incredible. He was almost always by the tackle before they even moved their feet.

      • SoonerFan92 says:

I would have to agree with you on that. He was more of a burst/quick of the line guy. His top-end speed just wasn’t like some of the other players at that position in the combine which is why people knock him a little.

        • rainydaze114 says:

If only he were closer to a 4.6 guy and about 20lbs heavier… :/

          • SoonerFan92 says:

I’m right there with ya. Loved watching him play so much these last few years, but I’m worried about him getting serious playing time in the NFL because lack of size/speed.

      • hOUligan says:

Agree. His ‘quickness/first 2 steps’ off the line and ability to anticipate the snap is what separates him. And as Mojo said, his tenacity. It’s that ‘drive and tenacity’ that made him such a good leader that will be missed most.

      • paganpink says:

    • Stephen says:

So not smart when rebuilding a team/brand.

    • Birddawg says:

Titans will be in the playoffs before the rams.. that is no question.
      Stellar trade.

      • KJ1123 says:

Yeah true. If they commit to build around Mariota this year, they’ll be in good shape. Need a run game, and the Mariota/DGB connection was clicking toward the end of the season as well.

        • Birddawg says:

4 of the top 50.. jeez.
That could be 4 plug and play starters.
          Huge opportunity to get better.

          • KJ1123 says:

Seriously….I mean…there must be someone Fisher REALLY wants. They need QB, WR, OL from what I can see. Crazy.

          • Birddawg says:

You don’t do something like that unless you are willing to get fired for your decision. That risk must equal value.
            Only value is QB.
Qb becoming a damn HoF aka the next Andrew Luck..

          • KJ1123 says:

He’s a PAC 12 guy…hes gonna take the Cal QB.

          • j l says:

Bet he takes tunsil. Goff isnt worth trading away that many picks to get.

Honestly there were no players in this draft worth trading away that much, even as good as tunsil is going to be.

          • KJ1123 says:

Yeah true he has his stud RB, need some stud lineman to match.

          • Birddawg says:

That is so crazy to give up that much for a OT.
Has to be a QB. Goff or Wentz.. 50/50
            My money is on wentz..

          • j l says:

If you give up that much for an FCS Qb, your days as an NFL GM are numbered.

Tunsil is one of the most athletic OT’s to come around in a long, long time.

          • Birddawg says:

I agree about Tunsil (safest pick in draft) but his positional value isn’t there to move 14 spots to number one. QB driven league.
Browns have one of the all time greats in Joe Thomas and no qb for years. They aren’t going anywhere until a serviceable QB.

Moving that high they must be getting a QB.

        • soonerjunky says:

Do we claim DGB as one of ours? I’d like to.

Yeah I think alot of kids dont get the numbers game, and when they’re told it’s like “What? What do you mean there’s only a certain amount of spots?”

        • Bob Edwards says:

It’s not just the players. Fans don’t get it either. You hear lot’s of people on here say “Oh, we will take so and so, if they want to come.” Not if we don’t have anymore slots. In this case it is a zero sum game, for everyone you take you lose one somewhere else.

          • KJ1123 says:

Very true, or the “Why didn’t we offer him???” question. Sometimes the board is just full…especially if a kid is a late bloomer.

          • Bob Edwards says:

Yep, sometimes that guy was number five on the list but we only got to four before we filled up our slots. Didn’t mean we didn’t like him, we just liked someone else a little bit better. Sometimes it’s just a matter of thinking one fits your scheme better than the other or gets along better with your staff and players..

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

Or unless you are a grey-shirting $EC team or Meechigan that dumps a player when someone better happens to be available. Sorry son, your scholarship is revoked since Joe Bob has a better 40 time.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

Or unless you are a grey-shirting $EC team or Meechigan that dumps a player when someone better happens to be available. Sorry son, your scholarship is revoked since Joe Bob has a better 40 time.

          • Bob Edwards says:

We aren’t that school and we never should be.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

Not saying we are, but many others do so. I hate that.

          • Dick Bump says:

That seems to be the case with Bob Stoops. They honor commitments. Likely one of the reasons they are a bit slow in offering someone who fans think should be offered right away.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

Yep, and I admire Stoops for doing it the right way.

          • Rick says:

A common remark made here is something like, “if they’re that good, we’ll make a place for them”.

          • metzker says:

Well,Rick they can only take so many cheerleaders also and i have a place for them!

          • Rick says:

I’m glad you are willing to make the sacrifice bud. I’m getting comfortable enough after so many years of marriage, that I wouldn’t have a place for them. Like Bob said, it’s a numbers game, so I’m glad that one of the brethren is ready, willing and able to achieve the goal.

          • Bob Edwards says:

When I hear that I think of this guy. Started as the EIGHTH string QB, certainly the guy you would kick out to ‘make room.’ He finished 32-1-1 as a starting QB.

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgMgDNIMCsc

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Loved Steve Davis. My number in high school 5. He loved the lord, was 32-1-1. Loss in a huge upset and tied the defending UPI champs USC on the road! Could have easily been 34-0! RIP.

“I am the resurrection and the life.”
            Lord Jesus

          • MoJoOkie says:

At least not with your integrity intact. Which is sacred to Bob Stoops and I’m glad he is that way.

    • CcrBoomer says:

Glad to have MJ at Ou! Seems like a really good kid indeed

  • Wilson says:

Watching the A&M spring game. Trevor looks really good. I guess he just needed the change. So far looks like it will workout for both A&M and Trevor. Hope he plays the same when the lights are on. Good luck Trevor! I for one hated to see you go…. I will not be wishing good luck to the Aggies…..yes…i am…conflicted…lol

    • KJ1123 says:

How crazy would that be if there ends up being a Baker/TK game next year? I hope TK lights it up and gets a shot at getting drafted high.

    • Bob Edwards says:

TK’s issues seem to be more related to the head part of the game. He has as much physical talent as many good QB’s. It just seemed like when the lights went on he couldn’t do what he did in practice. Hopefully, for him, the change will give him an opportunity to reset his brain and do better. Unless of course he plays against us.

      • paganpink says:

Not only that, Bob, but he was disturbingly prone to injury whenever he was playing full contact and there’s no way to completely protect a quarterback in a game. Bob Stoops certainly did everything possible including ordering him not to run and to avoid all contact but they still hurt him anyway on the few occasions that the defense got a shot at him before he could release the ball!

        • MoJoOkie says:

He (TK) is in a similar position to the one he was in here. There are not a lot of options behind him if something happens. I think OU didn’t let him play his entire game (running, scrambling) and I fear the same will hold down there. He seems to be a rhythm guy who likes to move around to accentuate that. When you can’t risk him getting hurt, you hurt his game. JMO

          • paganpink says:

I agree. I think our remedy kept him from being who he was sometimes.

          • MoJoOkie says:

Yeah, I’m afraid he may meet a similar fate down there. I hope he finishes his college career on the upswing.

        • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Well, a cheap shot (think Baylor) caused one of the times he was out. That is eqvalent to a sucker punch which can bring anyone down. I am glad he’s gone, but he’ll always be a Sooner for the victory in the Sugar bowl and how he conducted himself off the field.

      • SoonerinLondon says:

His sphincter tightened on game day like Bob’s does in the last two minutes. The result often looks like panic.

    • KJ1123 says:

      Speaking of the aggies:
“Drew Rosenhaus terminates contract with Johnny Manziel..”
      Kids a mess…

    • Wilson says:

We need to stop training players for a second career at A&M…lol

    • Jason Vos says:

He has always looked good in practice/spring games. When the lights are on, its a different story. Also his decision making is piss poor

    • Jim Casy says:

He is not accurate and melts down under pressure minus Bama.

    • Dick Bump says:

I’d like to see Trevor have a great year and tear it up in the SEC.

  • Jason Vos says:

Looks like we will be running predominantly a 4-2-5/3-3-5 defense with Will Johnson being on the field majority of the time. This will give Mike Stoops the opportunity to rush the Jack LB’s (Obo/ Deberry & Jackson a lot more). Defensive depth chart should look like this

    DE: Dimon / Ward/ Gallimore
DT: Romar / Overton / Wade
DE: Walker / Roberts / Lampkin
    JOLB: Obo / R.Deberry / M.Jackson
    MLB: J.Evans / C.Kelly/ J.M Terry
    OLB: T.Evans / K.Doucet/ C.Bolton
    NB/SOLB: W.Johnson / C.Sylvie
    CB: J. Thomas / S.Taylor/ A.Stephens
    CB: D.Austin / P.J Mbanasor / J. Parker
    SS: S.Parker / W.Sunderland / C.Sylvie
    FS: A.Thomas / K.Haughton / P.McKinney
    KR: Ross, Anderson
    PR: J.Mixon

    • Bob Edwards says:

I prefer to call it a 3-3-4 + 1. Where the +1 is usually a hybrid guy such as a LB/S combo or a DE/LB combo. They pick the +1 based on situation. Having a hybrid guy let’s them shift formations against no huddles without changing personnel.

    • Birddawg says:

As of right now looks good.
      Summer,
PJ will win the 2nd db position
Dimon getting the start is not a good sign.. (undersized) Surely someone in summer wins the primary rotation at 2nd DE spot.. Gallimore, Ward,Lampkin, Roberts?
Also things can shuffle around if Kelly is ready to go.

      • Daryl says:

I still think Austin will win the second CB spot. Though I like PJ’s size I think that Austin will just be farther along in his coverage skills than PJ.

        • CcrBoomer says:

Austin was beat a lot in the spring game. If it was a real game he would have had been flagged for PI at least 3 times i saw.

      • Katyboomer says:

I have watched Dimon for a while ( including H.S.) and he has always taken care of his assignments. I have seen people on here keep asking for him to be replaced. I have to ask not only you, but the rest of the board when have you ever seen him bust his assignments? He may not be flash and dash like some, but I think what he does, as well as what he’s asked to do, allows others be that way.

      • kokevo says:

Call me crazy but I think Jackson and terry are more likely to see the field before kelly just a feeling.

    • Collin says:

Don’t quite know how I feel about Mixon at PR. I like the idea of putting one of our most explosive play makers in an opportunity to put us in good field position. However, we can’t afford him getting hurt, on special teams no less. Then again, if all we do is call fair catches on PR like last year, he won’t ever see contact.

      • Buddy W says:

        Humphreys is PR

        • Fear The Magic says:

Id hold my breath with every punt. No likey.

          • ALar03 says:

If he catches it and we actually set up something of a return so will other teams…I love this kid and hope he gets at the minimum a chance

          • Fear The Magic says:

“IF” being the keyword. From what we’ve been told his hands are questionable.

          • ALar03 says:

If could go with a lot of things.. I’d take the chance rather than hearing everyone complain about mixon maybe getting hurt..

          • Daryl says:

He caught every punt that came his way at Spring game and it was a very windy day so I would think catching punts he should be ok.

          • Fear The Magic says:

Big difference between catching the ball when you know that you’re about to get slammed by four 200lb guys with mean intentions.

          • Daryl says:

I can’t disagree with that at all and you may be right. BUT as someone who used to “attempt” returning punts catching the ball in that wind was really tough and he looked very comfortable. If that can continue with live bullets his speed would be a welcomed addition to PR.

Also just a note that catching bullets from Mayfield while running full speed is a very different thing than basically standing flat footed and waiting for a ball to get to you. If the butter fingers rumors are true that could be why.

          • Fear The Magic says:

I hope you’re right. I certainly like his wheels.

      • Ura Hogg says:

Give Mixon every opportunity to touch the ball. Hope not, but this may well be his last year in Norman.

    • SooperDave says:

I thought Bob said that Bolton was now at MLB?

  • Shelby is a Patriot says:

I decided to save you the trouble as I have not been there in quite a few months. The board there must be much worse than here as the most popular thread was discussing the upcoming colonoscopy. All of the 50+ year olds were recounting their experiences the evening before and the day of. Having been throught the procedure, and I am also 50+ I decided not to join the convo. I did come running back here post haste. I probably will not go back to LT for quite some time if ever.

  • KJ1123 says:

One of the things that frustrates me in the spring is, you see all these kids, 2nd 3rd year players that show up during the spring game and then disappear during fall camp. Everyone has a chance to get on that field and contribute during the season. But true freshmen shouldn’t, for the most part, come in and out work an upperclassmen who is given a shot to start. That’s why although spring ball is a nice little teaser, I don’t take any stock in 80% of it until fall camp.
