Many of y’all have been following our posts on Seminole HS RB Papi White. We came across Papi recently on a tip from a few of our readers and we ran a post about him. A short time after that Coach Snyder (Seminole HS coach) began receiving a lot of phone calls from college coaches. At the time we ran the post Papi didn’t have a single offer. Since then he’s received offers from Western Kentucky and Southern Miss. We also heard this evening that he has received offers from Ohio and Marshall. He also got a Rivals profile 🙂 Something he didn’t have before: http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Papi-White-157329

BCS Schools Showing Interest
Well here is some interesting news. Kansas State has been in touch with Coach Snyder (of Seminole HS) and apparently KSU was already recruiting an RB but has now slotted Papi right behind that kid as the next RB on their board. They apparently have concerns about the kid they are currently recruiting qualifying and if that happens then it appears Papi may actually get an offer from KSU. They have said he is next on their board.
Papi’s family has said that WVU appears to be close to offering.
But here is what’s really crazy. I heard Tuesday night that Oregon called Papi’s coach to ask about Papi. Apparently one of their coaches is interested! It sounds like the coach who called still needs to get the ok on an offer from the head coach but the fact that Oregon called coach Snyder (the Seminole HS coach) is amazing. And it’s funny because when Broyles and I talked about Papi a little while back he actually made a side comment saying something like…you know I could see him playing in an Oregon type offense.
I know Papi isn’t an OU recruit but he is an Oklahoma kid so we thought y’all might be interested in following him. We certainly are.

I know OU can’t recruit every in-state kid, but I hate to see in-state gets go under the radar, then have a great college career elsewhere. Eh, what are you gonna do?! It happens.
You bet, I love following the Oklahoma kids.you guys are doing a great service for these kids.keep it up.
Me too!
This is the most fun part of it for sure.
Seminole county representin!
Great jobs guys…that’s how you do it!
Appreciate it JD. Love seeing this kid getting attention from coaches!
Thanks!
The bigger question is why a school like TU (Tulsa) isn’t recruiting him. If he is good enough to get offers from KSU, WVU, and Oregon potentially, he should have had a Tulsa offer a long time ago. Blankenship’s leash is getting shorter, IMO.
OU most likely doesn’t need the kid, though I certainly wouldn’t mind recruiting a kid that is more of a scat-back type. But with our OL struggles, I’m a little disappointed they haven’t offered the OK kid that was previewed here the other day.
I agree, Tulsa should be all over this kid. They need a spark after this year. The bad thing is the kid may no longer look at Tulsa if he starts getting bigger looks. They may have missed an opportunity.
Serves em right in my opinion.
yeah, I love Michael Warren’s game.
Tulsa likes him. The problem is they’ve already got two RBs that are about the same size as Papi committed.
UPDATE: Ok here’s what I’ve found out. Coach Aiken is the coach from Oregon that wants to offer Papi but the coaches met and they’ve got like 2 RBs they were recruiting before Papi so it would appear that Papi is now around 3rd on Oregons board. So it’s a wait and see thing. KSU has Papi next on their board. They have a kid committed that has some eligibility issues. So the word is if that kid doesn’t get things straight in the classroom Papi is up next. It’s just unfortunate that Papi’s recruitment started so late.
That’s all we need is another OK kid going to KSU and running up and down the field on us!
lol man Lockett tore it up a few weekends ago! I’ll be honest with you though – that’s more about BTW kids…they’re just good. I’m telling you Oklahoma is making a mistake not taking Jonathan Willis
According to his father, Tulsa has already offered a full ride last week and as of today New Mexico and Ohio have offered scholarships as well.
