Noah Cain: The Sooners hosted 2019 IMG Academy RB, Noah Cain, this past weekend…

The take away from this trip, according to Cain, was that it felt like “home”. Can said, “I had a really good time. It felt like home”. It felt so “at home” that it even surprised Cain, “I had a good feeling I was going to like the trip but I didn’t know I was going to feel that at home”.

Cain also added that Sooners RB commit, TJ Pledger is already recruiting Cain to OU and while it seems to be working, Cain isn’t ready to make a decision anytime soon, “my decision will be later. In December 2018 before I graduate”.

Can is originally from Baton Rouge but lived much of his life in Dallas. His father still lives in Louisiana but his mother is in the Dallas area. – (Super K)

Bryce Bray: OU recently extended an offer to in-state offensive lineman, Bryce Bray (Bixby, OK).

Bray says he will be at the spring game this weekend. He also said that he plans on making his commitment sometime this spring. Bray didn’t tip his hand but this could be one to keep on eye on. Bryce has previously said that he grew up an OU fan. The other school to watch with Bryce is Oklahoma State. His former teammate, Brendon Evers signed with Oklahoma State. Still, a good visit this weekend and one would think the Sooners will be tough to beat. – (Super K)

Team Note | Parnell Motley: Cornerback, Parnell Motley has received a lot of praise this spring. We’ve spoken with additional sources on Motley and everyone we speak to says essentially the same thing, Motley has had the best spring of any defensive back.

Many of you will recall the spring after his freshman season when the light came on for Jordan Thomas. It sounds like that is happening for Motley. Having said that, it should be noted that Motley actually demonstrated his ability to get his hands on the ball last year during fall camp. He led the defensive backs in interceptions. He’s doing the same this spring but he’s become more complete as a player and in his knowledge of the defense.

With Jordan Parker out with an injury, Motley will get the start this weekend. If his development continues I believe it will be hard for Parker to hold on to his spot. Even Parker was healthy, Motley was beginning to take first team reps. – (Super K)

Team Note | Du’Vonta Lampkin: Also stumbled on a bit more injury information recently. It sounds like the defensive line has been missing a key piece this spring. I was recently told that Du’Vonta Lampkin has been out for the past couple weeks and will likely be out the remainder of the spring.

I don’t have any specifics on the injury but it didn’t sound like anything that would keep him out for the summer or fall. – (Super K)

Team Note | Kapri Doucet: This spring, Kapri Doucet has been playing inside linebacker for the Sooners. I was told Doucet had an excellent camp but, as expected, was still working through getting his alignment and assignments down.

It does sound like the Sooners will move Doucet back to outside linebacker. This is speculation but I think part of the reason this move back to OLB is happening is to try and make sure OU can get both Caleb Kelly and Kenneth Murray on the field at the same time. My guess is at some point we will see Murray begin taking reps inside. Again, that’s just my guess at this point. But it’s rooted in the belief that OU knows they’ve got special talent with Kelly and Murray and want to make sure they got those guys on the field together. – (Super K)
