Team Note | Charles Walker: As you all know, Charles Walker missed the OU vs. UT game due to a concussion. I suspect that coach Stoops will address Walker’s availability for this upcoming game in his presser today.

I will say that based on what I’ve heard from a couple sources, this could be more serious than it sounded when last week’s report first came out. I was told a long absence is possible. However, most folks I’ve reached out to have been reluctant to say much about it so it’s been difficult to get a specific timeline.

Again, hopefully it will be addressed by coach Stoops in the presser later this morning. – (Super K)

Jalen Reagor: In case you missed it, Sooners WR commit, Jalen Reagor did end up making to the game this past weeked.

There has been a lot of talk about Reagor and the state of his commitment to Oklahoma. Myself and K have checked with a few folks and we were both told similar things through two separate sources which is that Reagor is locked in. However, we are told that Reagor would like to take some additional visits to other schools. In talking to sources close to Oklahoma they have been given assurance by the family that Reagor is very much committed to Oklahoma. But again, it sounds like Reagor is considering taking some trips. – (Brandon)

More on Reagor: To add to what Brandon mentioned above, the reality is when you recruit difference makers, you’re going to have to navigate around this desire to take visits. If you’re recruiting highly coveted players, you’ve got to recruit them all the way to the end. If you flinch when they express their desire to take trips, you are more likely to lose them.

The Sooners are a traditional powerhouse with top flight facilities, one of the best head coaches in college football, a loyal fan base and a proximity to home for players like Reagor. They just have to exude confidence in these situations and live with the results.

One of the things that is really going to continue to help the Sooners with stability of this class is the fact that they’ve recruited a lot of local players who have become such a tight knit group. One source put it best saying, “They (SS17) want to play together. They’ve become best friends through this process and they hold each other accountable…” – (Super K)

Jacob Phillips: This Wednesday the Sooners will find out their fate as it relates to 2017 LB, Jacob Phillips. While Phillips did visit a number of schools, we have long noted that Phillips was down to OU and Alabama. Two question marks going into this weekend were…

1. With commitment of Dylan Moses, does Bama still have a spot for Phillips. In not then OU would be the likely choice (and they may be the choice regardless).

2. Would Texas A&M’s late entrance into Phillips top 5 (he dropped LSU and replaced them with TAMU) make a difference?

Regarding the second question, I don’t have a clear answer. What seems very clear is the Phillips family really loved the trip to College Station they took this past weekend. Phillips mother told me after the trip, “We (Jacob and the family) really like it there (College Station). It was simply amazing…one of the most exciting game atmospheres I’ve been part of”.

Going into this season I wouldn’t have thought TAMU had a chance but I’m not so sure anymore. I’ll continue to check but other than confirming he enjoyed the trip, Phillips himself isn’t tipping his hand. – (Super K)

K’Lavon Chaisson: Spoke with one of K’Lavon Chaisson’s coaches who confirmed that Chaisson did make the trip to Dallas for the OU vs. UT game. – (Super K)

New DB Offer: This past weekend Sooners offered 2017 DB, Latavious Brini. Hope to have more on him later…
