Open Post | Monday, June 4th

Quick reference for all the eyes that Head Coach Lincoln Riley has sent out post Spring Game (all of which were accounted for)

– April 17th – 2 sets of eyes – Jonathan Perkins (LB) & EJ Ndoma-Ogar (OL)

– May 9th – *We hinted about a defensive player from out of the region who will announce publicly mid-summer

– May 14th – David Swaby (OL)

– May 26th – *We hinted about another defensive player who will announce publicly at a time TBD. Right now we believe this will occur in late summer, but could happen sometime earlier.

– June 2nd – Joseph Weté (OLB/DE)

No eyes are unaccounted for aside from the eyes for Marcus Stripling from way back when, but as we have mentioned, Stripling has backed off his silent pledge although the Sooners remain very much in the picture with him. – (Charlie)

The Sooners played host to a pair of 2019 Offensive Line offers this weekend for unofficial visits.

– Offensive Guard, Marcus Alexander out of Sunnyvalle (TX), who was offered by Oklahoma last week, made his way to Norman as we mentioned he would in an earlier post.

I was able to briefly catch up with Alexander following his visit, and Marcus is a man of few words, as evidenced by when I asked him what his favorite part of the visit was and he said, “I loved it all.”

The real news is; As of right now he is planning on making his commitment announcement to whichever school he chooses very soon.

We continue to feel very good about where OU stands, and would not be at all surprised to see some more of those eyes you all love, flashed in the near future. – (Charlie)

– Also, as we mentioned previously, 2019 Offensive Tackle, Jonah Tauanu’u out of Harbor City (CA) Narbonne HS, made his way to town for his unofficial visit with the Sooners.

This visit represented a huge opportunity for the Sooners to get their foot in the door with Tauanu’u and hopefully become a true factor in his recruitment going forward.

I have plans to catch up with Johan following his trip to discuss his thoughts after having been on campus and around the OU staff. – (Charlie)

– While we had heard pretty consistent rumblings of a potential decommit from 2019 defensive back Jarrian Jones over the past couple of weeks, throughout all of our correspondence with Jarrian, he had been saying all the right things regarding OU.

However, an OU source told us early Saturday morning that they expected Jarrian to decommit from Oklahoma later that day. Obviously, as you know by now, the defensive back did in fact flip his commitment from OU to Mississippi State.

We will have an updated Defensive Back recruiting board for you all early this week. – (Brandon)

– With the loss of Jarrian Jones, Oklahoma has actively continued to recruit other safeties and Booker T Washington safety, Dax Hill, has always been a take and is probably the best safety in the nation. OU, as we have reported, is a great spot there.

Another player that is new to the equation is 2019 Lanett (AL) safety Trikweze Bridges. I learned that there was a strong possibility that Bridges was going to be offered by OU in the previous 24-48hrs, per sources.

As you can see, that offer did in fact go out on Sunday.

Prior to receiving the offer, I spoke with Bridges about that possibility and he said,”That’s an offer I have been waiting on for a long time! They will definitely make my top 5 I am hoping to drop later this week.” Bridges added,”If they offer it is a MUST visit…. in all caps, sir.”

I will have a full write up on Bridges soon. – (Brandon)

– Earlier today, Lincoln Riley sent out a tweet about the freshmen move-in day. A pic was posted and four noticeable signees were absent in 2018 LB DaShaun White, OL Tramonda Moore, DL Ron Tatum, and OL Darrell Simpson.

I spoke with White last night and he said, “I leave for Norman in the morning. Just graduated.” White added, “When I get there it’s all about getting number 8!” Something Sooners fans will love to hear!

As for Moore? He’s had his ups and downs since high school, but this time around it looks like all things are working in his favor as a source specified that, “Moore should be arriving next week.”

With Moore’s track record, I’m sure the Sooners staff will have a watchful eye on him to make sure he does what’s needed when he arrives, “Everyone at OU is rooting for him. Not many have as high an upside as he does on the football field. Just hope he’s got everything else figured out too.”

As for Tatum and Simpson, we can say we know that they are enrolled and in the OU Student Database. While we are hearing rumblings of potential delays in their arrivals, we cannot confirm reasons for the delay at this point, and we will be digging to see what we can come up with.

TFB will stay on top of this and let you all know when Moore, Tatum and Simpson have arrived on campus. – (Brandon)
