Injury Notes (UPDATED 10:20 am)

There have been quite a few injuries in the past week so I’ll make a list here as we go into the OU vs. Tennessee game:

Charles Walker – Walker went out this past weekend with an MCL sprain. He should be back in a few weeks. It doesn’t appear that he will be available this coming weekend.

Matt Dimon – Dimon didn’t play this past weekend. I’ve been told that he might have a chipped bone in his elbow. Not sure yet if he will be good to go this coming weekend.

Jordan Wade – Wade was also out this past weekend. Don’t have any information about his injury.

Jordan Evans – Evans is fine.

Zack Sanchez – Have heard from multiple sources that Sanchez has a dislocated shoulder.

UPDATE (10:20 am): Coach Stoops has said that Sanchez should be ready to go for the OU vs. Tennessee game this weekend.

Sanchez and Evans most important to get on the field this week. Hope Dimon is ready to go, too. OU has good depth at DE but Dimon and
Walker are the next guys off the bench.

Agree…really think having Walker is big. He comes on and makes an instant impact. Plus if he gets enough reps this year he’ll be a monster by the end of the year.

Okay, so speak to me: what’s the deal with knee braces? OL seems to wear them to protect against injury rather than to support an injured knee. Why wasn’t Walker wearing a pair?

Walker has a big upside. Him being out will hurt. Kid a freak of an athlete.

Shoulder stuff really scares me. There is just so much going on there (like knees), that stuff can get misdiagnosed easily, or take a while to heal. Hopefully he really is 100%, and this isn’t something that will linger all season.

Things in the AC or SC joints aren’t that difficult, it’s the glenohumeral joint that should cause worry… but it’s not, so I’d assume this was pretty easy to diagnose.

Shoulder injuries suck. I had 3 surgeries in college finally ending my playing days and I am no better off today than I was when I went in for my first surgery. All started with a broken collar bone in a 7 on 7 tourney. Praying it is nothing really serious for Sanchez.

With Sanchez’s shoulder issue. I played in high school with a similar injury. At times if I moved my arm up to quickly it would go dead and I couldn’t lift my arm up. I didn’t tear anything though and just had to go through PT to get strength back. So hopefully it is something similar and not a tear.

    What about Q. Hayes ?
