During today’s presser coach Stoops said that the injury to Sterling seemed minor but couldn’t offer anything definitive.
I know it often feels like we hear one thing and the injury turns out to be worse so I wanted to pass along what I’ve heard from a source. I was told we’ll probably know more after practice today but as of now the source told me that Sterling did indeed seem fine. In other words what I’m hearing coincides with what Coach Stoops is revealing publicly.
I hope to have more after the team practices.
– UPDATE (8:38 pm): Really good news! I’ve been told that Sterling Shepard practiced full go today. Was told the injury was indeed very very minor and it sounds like he’s participating in all aspects of practice. He was apparently held out of the Iowa State game because they didn’t want to risk anything. So as far as we are being told, Sterling should not only play Saturday, but should be 100% and should have a full week of preparation under his belt.

Thanks K
I’m not sure, but I think I’d err on the side of getting the other team to prepare for a guy, if it were a close call, or impossible to call. With the player, I’d be tempted to err in the other direction, be inclined to hold him out, if there was any danger of further injury or not being ready, creating the gap of which you speak. Unless, of course, we’re talking about a lineman. ,,:-)
I think you want BU to prepare for Shep regardless, why give them the option to pin their ears on us. The cart ride off the field was a nice touch to cloud their minds.
lol the more I hear about how minor it was…the more I’m starting to buy your theory haha!
Very cool update!
Players aren’t *generally* smiling, laughing, and kicking their foot like they’re riding in the back of a limo while being carted off the field…
Thanks for the report and update. Good news is always welcome.
Groin pull?
Good, Baylor should be scared because Shep is the man.
Soooo, reading between the lines, he is done for the year then?
