100 Days to Football Time in Oklahoma: #5 A.D. Miller

The Path to Norman

Miller and OU didn’t begin to circle each other until late in the recruiting cycle. When Lincoln Riley arrived in Norman January 2015, he got in touch with A.D. shortly after.

Just a week removed from signing day, OU fans got the news that Miller would be heading to OU.

Career so Far

Despite flying under the radar for much of his recruitment, Miller came in with high expectations. Word was extremely positive regarding the Texas high school product. His freshman season, he played in six games, starting in one. While he didn’t play with high frequency, he had the opportunity to build a lot of experience.

A.D.’s sophomore season saw the receiver play in all games but one. While he played often, he had a much bigger first half of the season than second, with 70% of his yards coming before the start of October.

2017 looked to be the breakout season for the young receiver. Unfortunately, a quad injury before the start of the year led to a redshirt season. Instead of playing, Miller spent the season working on his strength and speed.

Last year was a similar story to 2016. While Miller played in many games, almost all of his production came in the first month of the season.

Highlights

2019 Season

Despite contemplating a transfer, Miller is back for his final season.

This is the last chance for Miller to break into the regular rotation and earn playing time, which will be tough. There are plenty of options at receiver, with a mix of returning experience and talented newcomers. However, Miller knows the offense and will look to make a name in 2019.
