The Path to Norman
Jackson was a very late addition to the 2016 signing class. A long-time Texas A&M commit, and top 200 recruit, the coaching staff kept pursuing Mark. At the start of February, days before signing day, the wind start to change. In the same day, he decommitted from TAMU and chose the Sooners.

Career So Far
TFB heard nothing but positive things about the Texas product before his freshman season; from “came in great shape physically” to “he’s a quick learner… once it’s explained, he’s got it.” However, freshmen definitely have a learning curve in the college game. Mark appeared in a handful of games his freshman season, mostly taking time to learn from Obo and company.
His sophomore campaign saw Mark appear in almost every game. As Obo was still around, he didn’t end up starting, but he did contribute frequently.

2018 Season
2018 will be the year for Mark Jackson to step up and assert himself at the JACK/ WDE spot. Addison Gumbs and he battled all spring for the job, and TFB heard that both looked good in the role. Sooner fans will be happy to know that, whichever gets the job, the other is willing and able to jump in. Jackson has a chance this year to become the next edge rusher for the Sooners.
