Interesting comment from Nick Saban yesterday at SEC media days about NFL potentially putting a limit on how many draft grade submissions they’ll take. (Twitter)

Fascinating read on an actual NCAA rule that allowed Texas A&M to pay $50k to entice a star player to return for another year. (Fox Sports)

Chip Brown chastising anyone (even Mr Percentages, Dean Blevins) for writing “fiction” is the true definition of irony. (Fox Sports)

Skydiving onto a slip ‘n slide, this would not suck.

I think the title of the video sufficiently sums things up.

I don’t think that draft grade rule is a bad thing.

Does OU have the Student Assistance Fund like A&M utilized? I too wonder if this could open up a can of worms. Say for instance an Adrian Peterson will commit but wants OU to take out a insurance policy. I know another AD will probably never come along-but who knows.

    • SoonerPhins says:

I have come to the conclusion that there will never be another AD. AD is a monster in his own right and probably a once in a life time player. Will be interesting to see how other schools, not limited to just OU, act after this A&M deal.

Saying we will see another AD is like saying there will be another Michael Jordan………not in my lifetime!

I brought up the a&m story about Cedric Ogbuehi and his insurance policy in yesterdays open post, don’t feel bad Esco it was a slow day at work. I think any rule that allows a kid to stay in school and protect his future is a good thing. I just hope it is a common rule, available to all schools and all conferences and not one of the SECs special rules they like to create for their league.

all good. there’s always a tendency for these, since I’m not adding to them throughout the day, to be a day or two behind the actual news cycle.

Love when you post the YouTube preview videos because I just keep following the links to the suggested videos and next thing you know its 4 hours later and I’ve watched highlights of everyone from The Boz to AD and I’m in the 3rd quarter of the 2000 Big12 Championship game. Keep up the great work… we’ve almost made it through July!!

They are addictive. Last week I went from the 2008 TTU Jump Around video, to the entire game, then to the next 3 full games: OSU, Missouri (Big XII Championship) & Florida (BCS Championship). That was fun run!!

          • Josh says:

I can’t do the 08 BCS Championship game… too painful lol, but that was a highly entertaining stretch of games. I always loved beating Mizzou when they had Chase at QB.. that kid always rubbed me the wrong way.

One unique play that stood out to me in the BCG was Florida (Tebow) running an option play with TE Aaron Hernandez “trailing” Tebow as a third option where Tebow would shovel it to him. With us now running an option and the potential talent we seem to have a TE/H-Back, I thought that would be a great twist to add that the OU coaches might remember.

    That 14-year old powerlifter…wow. That’s just impressive.

The name KAMIKAZE on the box should have been the first clue that thing had an agenda.
