Sooners News Daily 10.1.14

Royals craziness last night was totally worth how tired I’m going to feel all day.

FOOTBALL

Catching up with Aaron Colvin. (TW)

I’m assuming this will run during Saturday’s pregame on FOX.

TCU defense not a well-kept secret. (Star-Telegram)

Narcan was used in the heroin overdose incident we all heard of last week. It saved a life, so we recommend that all of our readers, for the love of their own family members and community, learn to administer naloxone so we can, together, fight the overdose epidemic. (StopOverdoseIL.org)

This.

Respect for actually owning it, that is until you throw that bit in about your track record at the end which, IMO, proves this was purely about saving face. Rather than about any true contrition, as it should be, about being so wrong. Not that he, or anyone for that matter, cares about my opinion on the matter. (News 9)

OTHER

Hells no.

I’m just gonna go out on a limb and say a rugby brawl is probably not something you want to find yourself in the middle of.

Weird title, but looks good.

Between Nila/ Jed’s hospital concerts and this yearly Haiti thing, you get the sense that these guys are special. Win on loss, couldn’t be prouder of this group.

    • lovethemsooners says:

Agreed, but the Haiti thing was actually started by the women’s basketball team several years ago. OU has been sending their student athletes over there every summer since.

I like how the Nila and Jed thing has made the front page of ESPiN’s website. Nice to see the good things reported on once in a while.

Nila/Jed, the group that goes to Haiti, Gabe Ikard being an Academic All American of the Year, Keith Ford speaking to kids about the importance of staying in school……I can’t help but think that Stoops leans back in his chair and is proud of these young men. The negative stuff gets reported but they are doing numerous that doesn’t.

    • hOUligan says:

Ever notice how OU under Stoops always has a core of solid, conscientious young men, starting at QB; going all the way back to Heupel, White, Bradford, Jones, Bell and now Knight. There will always be mistakes made by young men, but am generally very proud of the men and women representing the U of Oklahoma.

I saw the Taken 3 trailer for the first time yesterday, and I just KNEW you’d have it in today’s Daily News.

    Very disappointed. 🙂

    • Sam Philbeck says:

Haha I expected them to have it posted as well! Sooner news and trailers is what I look forward too the first thing in the morning lol

  • SoonerPhins says:

Should OU keep an eye on Caleb Colvin (Aaron Colvin’s brother)?

  • Jake says:

I like the first comment under Dean Blevins apology.
Some one said, “it’s ok Dean, the weathermen are wrong all the time too”. Or something to that affect.

You’re telling me you don’t ride the old BMX down a mountain every weekend Esco? Wuss!

Congrats on your Royals victory. What an outrageously fun game that was!

  • ♤ Matt Casey ♤ says:

Has there been any word on Ford’s injury status? This Saturday will be 3 weeks since he sustained his injury.

  • Brad Warren says:

Damn, what is Frank Alexander doing to his career, life? Sad. Always thought he could be really good pro. Unfortunately whatever hes using seems to be more important.
