The Sooners have to land wheeler and deberry. No questions.
Say we don’t land LB’s Jefferson, McGinnis, DeBerry, McKee, Houston, Peat, or Wheeler, what names should we throw in the LB mix? I know D Thomas is in there. Anyone know anything about Nela Otukolo out of Bishop Gorman in Vegas? Nick Thomas out of IMG Academy? Joshua McMillon out of Whitehaven HS in Memphis says he’s interested in OU. I don’t see many names out there at ILB available or in our reach.
If we don’t land ANY of our top targets again this year, Kish needs to be fired. IMMEDIATELY. We need an LB coach that doesn’t require a damn Viagra or look like he possesses an AARP card.
I’m with ya but remember that its been mostly Montgomery recruiting DeBerry. (Why i like our chances)
We’ll see. The final in-home was with Kish, Monty, and Bob. Hopefully that seals the deal.
Im gonna give OU credit when it comes to DeBerry. They’ve done everything they can to land him. If he goes elsewhere it just wasn’t gonna happen no matter what else they did.

it’s more about the conference than Kish…. if a guy can play in the SEC , WHY would he want to play in the Little 12-2 ?? OU’s top targets are guys who have NFL ability and those guys want to face the opposition that will help them develop their games. its a ‘no-brainer’ ….SEC > little 12-2…………..
If we go oh for on that list, idgaf who we go after the first thing we do is fire kish.

If OU misses……? This would probably be the end for a certain coach. It almost reminds me of Pattons lists of recruits. He pretty much whiffed on them all.

The OU Rivals page says Deberry and Rankin are deciding today. Is that correct? I thought DeBerry was announcing this Friday. Didn’t know about Rankin.

Super K said Monty more involved in the kids recruiting than Kish, that makes me more confident about our chances.
DeBerry is definitely Friday. I haven’t heard an exact date on Rankin, but K seems convinced it’s happening sometime this week.
I think deberry has ou in his top 2 or 3. Worst odds 33% I get the feeling he’s coming to Norman. If he chooses another school, you better believe we will make a visit to his home January 16th.
Their page must be a day ahead…I think rankin is tomorrow too. December 17th is the juco NSD.

…….so, I’m confused…….what is the division of labor with kish/mont…….deberry is a lb and mont is doing the heavy lifting but kish is involved…..someone said that mont would be involved in his coaching also………how does this work
It probably came down to Stoops really wants DeBerry and he wanted his best recruiter on him not his worst.
that’s fine, but the position coach would be kish, correct?………this seems to be a thorough process by the deberry family……..one would assume that they’ve taken a hard look at kish and have a positive view
