OU/Texas(Sucks) & Week 7 Prediction Thread

Image via Norman Transcript

Another big slate of games and though it has clearly lost some of its luster from a national perspective, none bigger (for us) than the one going down in Big D tomorrow. I don’t even want to entertain the idea of what losing this game would mean, so we’ll just power through knowing that type of a result would set of an absolute firestorm.

But that won’t matter because we’re going to win, right?

I’ll throw out some suggestions, feel free to ignore them if you’d like, then you all can have at it in the comments section.

Suggested Predictions:

1. True or false – The coaching staff will be able to read the writing on the wall knowing a loss in this game effectively ruins this 2014 season and pull out all the stops in order to win this damn game.
2. Over/under – 1,253.5 combined number of times ‘Boomer Sooner’ is played + ‘Texas Sucks’ chants
3. Over/under – 134.5 yards rushing for Samaje Perine
4. Will a WR/TE other than Sterling Shepard/Durron Neal record a reception? And do they need to for OU to win?
5. Over/under – 4.5 sacks for the OU D on Tyrone Swoopes
6. True or false – Alex Ross will have a KO return for a TD.
7. True or false – A RB other than Ross/Perine will get at least one carry in this game
8. ______ will lead the team in tackles
9. The one thing (just one, no cheating) OU absolutely has to do, or avoid doing, to come away with a win Saturday?
10. Your OU/Texas final score is….
11. Your TCU/Baylor final score is….
12. Yes or no – You could find someone willing to pay you more than $5 per item for your autograph?

As always, feel free to add whatever other predictions you have for the weekend in the comments below.

    5. Under – He’ll escape a few time and just squeak past the line – 4 sacks for OU
    6. False – He’ll be tackled by the kicker because he has no ability to make a cut

  • Daryl says:

    1. False Heupul doesn’t know how to do that.
    2. Over
    3. Under. Texas defense is their strength and they will make Trevor win game.
4.Yes and yes. KJ was open on at least three balls that Knight one hopped to him last week. Young playing well but not getting help or looks from Trevor because he’s too busy staring at sterling.
    5. Over
    6. False

  • j l says:

you need to have 2 OU/UT predictions.

1 prediction depends on if knight can hit the broad side of a barn, the other is if he cant.

  • Daddy R says:

This time, I have to predict a dog fight down to the end. The TCU game exposed our weakness too well, which unfortunately, is coaching I think. This could be easily correctable, and damn it I hope it is! however, I have very little faith in Heup to call a decent gameplan, and I’m concerned the coaches as a whole, won’t have the players “up” for a second week in a row. Sounds to me like its ‘just another game’ to the Sooner staff, rather than freaking OU-TEXAS! and rather than a must win game after a loss…
    But, Boomer Sooner baby!

OU wins in uncomfortable fashion, 28-25, possibly in OT.

  • tfb_fortyseven says:

    1) They will most likely read the writing on the wall, but I don’t believe the coaches feel they need to “pull out all the stops”. I expect more frustration in this area … especially from JH.
    2) Under
    3) Under – He will continue to be forced to run up the middle ad nauseum due to JH’s tunnel vision.
    4) Yes (Blake Bell), and yes they need to get away from only Neal and Shep. Texas’ D is good make no mistake, but I’m sure JH believes TCU was an aberration … I expect the same game plan from JH.
    5) Over, I get the feeling Mike knows the D is gonna have to win this game, and they WILL bring the wood and try to create turnovers.
    6) False. I believe he is being overcoached and is in danger of losing his confidence if he hasn’t already.
    7) False … remember, JH has tunnel vision.
    8) Dom Alexander
    9) It’s all about the turnovers. Imagine where we’d be if tk9 hadn’t thrown that pick 6?
    10) 28 – 21 OU – Swoooops has his best game of the season so far, but it won’t be enough to overcome the OU defense and its ability to create turnovers. C’mon guys/gals … doesn’t OU have a propensity to make opposing QBs look good??
    11) 35 – 17 Baylor; TCU BARELY beat OU last weekend ‘cuz OU played sloppy, Baylor won’t allow TCU the opportunity to win … in Waco.
    12) Yes
    13) True/False – TRUE – Jordan Evans will have a highlight-reel-worthy play in the game.
    14) True/False – TRUE – I will be drunk by halftime.
    15) True/False – TRUE – Charlie Strong’s scalp will finally drip with sweat during his interview after the game.
