Sure would like to see a UTenn type atmosphere and result in this game. While not the quantity, those are some quality football players attending. OU needs this win to get back on track for the rest of this season and re-create the buzz they had going with the recruits.
Ykili Ross? When his HS game got switched to the same day as the Tennessee game I thought he said he would be out for Baylor? Anyone hear anything different?
I don’t know about other states and if they are into playoffs or not, but in Texas this coming weekend is the last game of the regular season with the playoffs beginning the weekend of the 7th and 8th. With an 11a.m. kickoff it will be tough for some of these young men to play this Friday and then make it to Norman. It will be even tougher for those recruits that advance to the playoffs, as those games tend to be played on Saturdays.
Of course many recruit’s teams won’t make the playoffs or advance very far so I would expect an even longer list of visitors for the Bedlam game.
I think that is one of the reasons recruiting/visits/commits slow way down this time of year, dividing their time between their team’s success and their futures.
In CA it’s the same- final regular season game and rivalry week.
Any word on Patterson?

I don’t know this for sure but super K might know more about Patterson.
I posted a few weeks ago that whitfield let a tweet out basically saying he’s upset with ou and K thought I meant Patterson. So it’s possible both aren’t happy with ou right now which I can understand because I think any other year they would have been offered early on.
247 has him coming in with Jalin for an unofficial visit.
I was told by a Baylor grad I work with that Haughton(sp) was suppose to be there. Anybody talked to him yet?
Would make sense as IMO it’s us or them. As for Ross, see he has a visit scheduled for ND the 22nd so maybe a visit for Ostate. Hopefully no “Ice Bowl”. Would have been better to have him when it was warmer but doubt he leaves the coast.

Kirkland, a UMich recruit, is a top-rated player. Haven’t watched any vids of him but understand he is a good ILB, a position of great need.

Kinda excited to see Lockett and Kirkland both on the list. Kirkland especially as he would be a huge snag at a position we desperately need. As for Lockett, it would be nice to wow him as we need at least 1, ideally 2 more CBs to pair with PJ. Surely Haughton will be there this weekend, right? Wasn’t he basically down to Baylor and OU? (well, not officially but strongly rumored)
I have a general question re official visits and unofficial visits – do recruits get more attention or stuff to do if they are there on an official or are they basically given the same tour and schedule as unofficial visit guys with the only difference presumably being unofficial visit guys pay their way to get to Norman?
I’ve seen it listed before that Iman Marshall and Stanley Norman were supposed to take officials this weekend. Any truth to that?

I was wondering the same thing. If he set an announcement date or if this was an official or unofficial visit. We need a couple commits this weekend.
I think a few are definitely possible with Haughton, Barnett, Lockett and possibly Wheeler all on campus.

Quick note re: the Elliott kid – IMO, OU is looking at him as a LB, not a safety. Which, given his size, makes very little sense to me, but OU coaches obviously have a long track record of this kind of thing.

Kirkland has been predicted by many 247 guys to Ole Miss recently. That is depressing. So sick of this “flavor of the month” school.

Kirkland is ranked as the fourth best ILB by the 247 Sports Composite while both ESPN and Rivals have him as the 7th best ILB.
