* That was fantastic.

* And I have to start this by giving it up to the crowd. They showed up and showed out. Sadly, that’s somewhat rare for a LNC crowd, but tonight was definitely one to be proud of. Loved every minute of it.

* Coming off a loss as bad as K-State and playing as poorly as OU did earlier in the week against West Virginia, Saturday night’s performance couldn’t have been much sweeter. Admittedly, outside of Nash & Forte this Ok. State team really isn’t very good. But this was a dominant performance from Oklahoma, in a much needed bounce back spot, almost from the tip. And that’s with this OU team headed into a very tough spot with a Big Monday match up in Lawrence against Kansas.

* Buddy did what Buddy does. There are always going to be some shots where you’re screaming “No, no, no, no….YES!” That’s just what you get with this guy. Fortunately, tonight those shots were falling. And when he’s on, he is almost unstoppable.

He shot 100% from the field in this game. 100%, that is not a typo. 10-10 from inside the arc, and 4-4 from beyond it.

* Very encouraging to see Jordan Woodard play considerably better in this game than he has of late, but he still made some mind-numbingly stupid decisions with the basketball in the backcourt. Still want to see him get back to the guy of last year beating guys off the dribble and getting to the free throw line rather than trying to rely on his, at least so far this year, unreliable jumper.

* Another double-double for Ryan Spangler, ho-hum. There’s nothing pretty about what he does, but he’s always one of my favorite players to watch whenever he’s on the court. Oh, and that And1 posterizing dunk he had late in the game was glorious.

* The fact that OU was able to run away with this one even with pretty modest games from both TaShawn Thomas and Isaiah Cousins is why so many of us were excited about this team’s potential prior to KSU & WVU.

100% from the field is a way of saying “Yall lost before the tip, guys.” Buddy was in the gym nearly three hours before the start of this one, seems to be taking full responsibility of this team and its recent stumbles.

Always fun to watch our guys beat down OSU. Boomer Sooner

Terrific break down. It was glorious. TaShawn Thomas almost made the glorious category, but the ball just would not be dunked.

  • BleedCrimson says:

What I love most about this team, is that it is every guy. While Buddy is a stud, every guy plays together and is more concerned with the team effort, not the individual. Awesome to watch

i think we are the epitome of this. when we start to feel too good about ourselves or play for self, we stink(think obviously wv, on top of that being a bad matchup, k st comes to mind and the meltdown at creighton, who looks awful now). when we play for each other and share the ball, etc we look pretty darn good.
and it always feels good puttin’ foot to hind end on the aggies

That Dunk by Buddy, followed by the dunk by Ryan… B E A utiful

All this team needs to do is get to the tournament. They have a tendency to take a night or two off and that to me explains the WVU game and the KState game. Not sure if it because they are not real deep and get tired or what. If they get to the tournament they could be dangerous.

    • Wilson says:

West Virginia is just a bad match up for this team. KSU…they should have won.

      • Ed Cotter says:

Yeah, that KSU game was a head scratcher. I expect the Sooners to come out with a vengeance when WVU comes to town later in the season. Any let down by KU probably went out the window with this battle they are having with ISU tonight. BIG 12 is just brutal this year, so you better bring your A game every night.

  • JJSoona says:

That was truly sweet. Geez, who shoots 100% on 14 shots??? J Wood made an appearance too!!!

    • Wilson says:

I shot 100% once, then I woke up. Was a sweet dream though.

    • Ed Cotter says:

Buddy was 10-10 from the field, including the 4 3’s. He only shot 10 times total. He was 3-5 from the line as well. Just sayin’.

      • JJSoona says:

        Oopsie, my bad. Thanx Ed.

        • Ed Cotter says:

No problem JJ, you were just going off what Jordan posted above. 10-10 is an awesome accomplishment. Hope he can keep up this hot shooting on Monday, Sooners will need it vs. Kansas.

  • Ed Cotter says:

Home teams have held court today in the BIG 12. Texas plastered WVU and KSU beat Baylor. ISU is up by 8 on KU. Can they hold on. We’ll see.

    • Scott Moore says:

That is why I feel that lax effort against K-State may come back to haunt us. Going to have to pick up a win in there to make up for it. Won’t be easy.

  • rphokc says:

when was the last ou win in lawrence……I remember the one during billyball…..did sampson win one

  • j l says:

Gonna win a lot of games when we can shoot 56% from the field lol.

  • John Garner says:

If they can be consistent, they can be dangerous come tournament time. A win in Lawrence wouldn’t surprise me. But then neither would a beat down.

  • Jeff says:

This was kinda a must win, I think a team with a losing record in the Big 12 could make the big dance

  • RBear says:

Any recruits in attendance last night?

  • Oscar says:

There are times when T. Thomas makes a move to the basket and I go “ahhhhhhhhh yes”, because there is evidence that he has that extra athleticism that puts him above the rest of the crowd.

  • pitbull17 says:

It’s a good day anytime OU beats down the pukes.
