Jordan Thomas and Jonathan Thomas Notes

Oklahoma has added a new DB visitor for this weekend. Jordan Thomas will be making a trip to Oklahoma. Jordan is a long athletic DB that can play safety but I also believe he has the qualities, even with his bigger frame, to play corner. I actually like what Thomas brings as a blend of size and fluidity.
Jordan is currently committed to Northwestern and has been for quite some time. But Oklahoma has also recruited Jordan in the past so it wouldn’t surprise me if Oklahoma had a real shot here.
On another note, Jonathan Thomas, the athletic LB out of Georgia let me know last week that he will not be visiting this coming weekend. I’ve been quiet about his situation because I think it’s in his best interest but I feel comfortable letting y’all know that he won’t be visiting Oklahoma this weekend.

So, would you say we are done with Jonathan? Academics?
Yes most likely OU and Jonathan are done.
Too bad. You hate to see a situation not work out for a kid that has the interest. But, ya gotta make those grades.
Hope he lands on his feet.
Sooners have only a couple spots left, so first ones to commit will get the spots. Will be interesting to see what happens this weekend. Thanks for the update.
Guys you need to keep in mind that kids parents all look at stability. They always bring that up when talking about schools. I think the fact that we are so stable a staff overall, that it’s starting to really help us. Eventually we too will be hurt when Bob leaves, but as long as we don’t mess up like UT did, we’ll be fine. We will get Parker this year because of stability vs TAMU losing their assistant. We need to strike while we are hot. Lot’s of reasons teams are passing on kids at this time of year and I think grades are a huge part of us walking away from kids. The first semester is done and you have a good idea if a kid is serious enough about passing courses or not.
Can’t get them all, so let’s just get the best.

Soloman Thomas isn’t a guy still looking at OU either, correct? I thought I read something after Mack leaving about us getting a visit, but nothing more seemed to come of that. Kid never really seemed into OU, for whatever reason.
Do you guys have any info here? Would his Stanford commit / lean be in jeopardy if the DC Mason bolted for the Vandy HC job? Would he give us another look?
There is so much going on in Recruiting right now that it is hard to keep up.
What’s the word on Dowels? Is he still planning on visiting the 31st? Heard a rumor he might not qualify.
smh. What a waste of talent if he didn’t/doesn’t put in the work to get qualified. I’ll never understand that.
Jordan has a smooth agility. I’m not sure if that makes sense. It seems that he can make some moves that make him slippery, but he’s not doing the super sharp cuts like Roy Finch (my favorite).
Northwestern? Sounds like he hammers it in the classroom.
I saw that Murphy-Richardson might be visiting on the 24th. What do you think our chances are with him? Other sites are predicting USC for him… “so you’re saying there’s a chance?” This recruiting time is really crazy so I know it’s probably a lot to keep up with.
And that’s too bad about Jonathan Thomas, I hope it works out for him somewhere else.

Looks like Brandon Glenn is no longer coming this weekend.
Thomas better know what he’s doing. Pat Fitzgerald has a firm policy that if you take a visit to another school then you lost your offer. He was Northwestern’s first 2014 commit, so the change in heart is rather surprising.
Fwiw I was told OU doesn’t feel confident that they can flip him. But I ask myself why a kid would take a trip to OU if he wasn’t considering it? It’s not like Norman is some hot destination, especially when it’s January and there isn’t a game.
