Interesting Note on Dakota Austin

Was shooting the breeze with a coach recently and we we’re talking about football and recruiting. And he asked me what my thoughts we’re on Dakota Austin (the freshman DB at Oklahoma that received a late offer last year). I responded by praising Austin and telling him how I think he’s an excellent talent and was incredibly undervalued. I said I felt he was good enough to receive an offer at the OU camp he attended the summer before his senior year. I went into some detail about what I liked about Dakota and what I thought he’d need to do to make an impact. My bottom line was – the kid can play!

So he mentioned to me that a well known DB coach who privately mentors/trains a lot of the best DB/WR talent in Texas (many of the big name guys that y’all have heard of that have offers from Florida, LSU, OU, Texas, USC, etc.) trained Dakota and said that Dakota was exceptional and said he can compete with any of the guys he trains including the players that receive all the national attention and offers. And when I tell you that this trainer trains the best – I mean he trains THE BEST – the kids that every school wants and every fan base brags about. And again, he went out of his way to say that Dakota is on their level. It doesn’t surprise me at all. We see overlooked talent that’s as good or better than all the “stars” all the time. I thought it was something y’all might like to hear.

This in a nutshell is at the heart of what we are trying to do here at the brainiacs. We want to get kids exposure, and get them recognized for what they can do. If you can play, you can play. Stars or no stars, we don’t care. Ball knows Ball, and guys like Dakota are players we need.

Good stuff! This is the kind of thing us average fans want and, frankly, need to hear. I am over the hype and the pages of glorified garbage that comes from mainstream media groups. I want the real stuff…the meat. ” I’m a man!!!” as the man once said! LOL I want meat and potatoes not cotton candy! I am over the hype, fluff, ignorant and baseless speculations. Perhaps I am different than most cause as a “believer”, I have no taste for lies, deception, errors, chaos, fluff, hype and much talk about nothing! Keep up the good work fellas! I for one appreciate it.

Dakota had everything but the size that everyone looks at. It will be interesting to see how he, LJ and Stanvon develop. Seems like a REALLY good CB class and makes it less important that we get Quick on the defensive side of the ball this cycle.

Love this site!!! You guys are doing an amazing job…love seeing us looking for kids with heart and coaching them up…rare to find guys like a.d. that have both but if they only have one I’d go with the heart of a warrior every time
